The booster was a loss leader designed to let people try out the product while building a mailing list. We should have cut it's throat when I came onboard, because 90% of the issues we're having right now are from the proliferation of booster orders we took. The booster is dead. Long live the booster.

Hopefully this doesn't carry a sour tone at all.. that's not my intention.. clarifications only...

So... with respect to your comment, "If there's time to fit it in before we launch the new stuff, we'll get to it. If not, I'll consider your order good enough to get the lifetime 15% discount and you can pick from the new packages."

It sounds a little misleading considering the announcement that was made on this page several posts up. Additionally, it's my understanding that if we order "ANY" package on the order page ON or BEFORE Dec. 31 we'll get the lifetime 15% off.

Just want to make sure I'm clear on this.

This is what I said in the announcement when i said we weren't taking orders:

We will be launching the details on these new packages before Christmas. They will be bigger. They will be better. They will be more diverse, both in IP's and types of links. They will take longer to complete. They will be more expensive. They will boost your sites in the SERPs like nothing you have ever seen before.

All of our legacy paid clients will get a coupon code for 15% off *for life* on all of our packages as a token of our appreciation.

We will be pre-booking January orders the last week of December. If you order and pay during that last week, you will receive the 15% off lifetime coupon. If you wait until the 1st or after, you will not.

Noting the first bold section, this hasn't happened yet. I can't in good faith spend time marketing to new customers while still having existing client's projects on the books, some of which are still behind schedule. So it's safe to infer from this, the time frame on the second bolded part is getting pushed back as well. And since I'm not approving new orders, it's impossible for anyone to pay.

Since the remaining packages you can see inside the LL website are all going to disappear for 2011, I still haven't decided the best way to handle it.

Allowing people to order and pay for packages that we're moving away from just in the interest of getting them a lifetime discount isn't in our best interests, as the whole point of scrapping the existing structure is that it isn't workable from a production standpoint, on many levels. Continuing to offer a service that is problematic to come through on doesn't work for us. Or our clients. I hope that makes sense.

Ultimately, we'll probably have another announcement when we're ready to roll out the new stuff, and allow people to order and pay for a predetermined amount of time equivalent to the time period of the last week of the year (but taking place in early January instead) which will then entitle them to the discount promised up thread.

Hope that reads like I intend it to, back to work for me.

After discussing it internally and with volume clients, we're going to release the relaunch (when it's ready) to our email list first. Now if you've already ordered and paid, disregard reading the rest of this, go acquire some currency, you're grandfathered in.

It's going to go down like this:

We'll send out an email to our user base with details on the new packages. Anybody who orders and pays for a package in the first 6 days OR until we process enough orders to schedule out all of January will qualify for the LTD. Considering I already have a wait list of people who want to order the new stuff right now, it probably won't take but 2-3 days to fill up January. Just want to get that out there so it's totally clear.

Not a current member of the user base? No problem, go to Layered Links - Login and set up a free account, use an email you actually check and you'll get first crack when we're ready to go.

Existing projects are moving along, although we've got a skeleton crew on atm as dchuk is on a much deserved vacation, we've fired a couple worthless employees, and a couple more are headed for the trash heap next time they decide to show their faces. When we relaunch, we will never again be hamstrung by dependency on third world infrastructure, utilities and personnel.

Appreciate your continued patience while we sort out your final projects.

So should I just consider the order I place deleted and wait for the email? I know it wasn't "accepted" since I never got the email asking me to pay. Just want to clarify so I don't have any loose ends causing issues.

I will definitely be in on the new system. I need some new diverse link juice.

That's probably a safe assumption at this point. If it works out differently, I'll email you and give you the option of running the project you ordered.

No, we're beyond needing a loss leader at this point. If you're looking for a quality package in a similar price range, check out onkel.micha's Consistenzez service, currently on page one of this subforum.
 
Alright I'm still a little fuzzy on this... so are you still saying that if we get in before the new year that we'll still qualify for the lifetime discount code ??? Please clarify.. hopefully I'm not the lone ranger here still wondering about this :)

I've ordered either way and am awaiting the approval of the order so I can remit payment. Since there's been no post as to whether you've filled up for January I'm going to assume that I'd qualify for the lifetime discount since we don't know what the status is on January yet. I guess you'll let me know when you review this post.

Layered Links is booked through the end of the year. In the interest of servicing our existing paid customers to the best of our ability, we are not taking any more orders until January 1st, 2011.

If I told you the keyword the "new stuff" just top 3'd for, after being stuck at 10-15 for weeks and weeks, you'd probably fly to Hawaii and make d snort lines personally while locking him in a code cave.

In all seriousness, there's a couple VA's I'd like to wring the necks of right now. If you're lurking WF, get your asses to work while you still have a job. :angryfire:

I'm fighting off a horde of people that want to prepay and get in now. As I said above, when the email launches you'll have that opportunity to grab one of the new packages and get the lifetime discount code as well. How long that discount offer stays up after the email goes out depends entirely on response. Never want to be in this situation again, so orders will be severely restricted until I'm self assured that the new systems/workers can handle the volume.

Sidenote, I've got frozen water pipes and a well that keeps tripping the circuit breaker, I won't be around for a few hours (best case scenario) while I fix/troubleshoot this so I won' be able to reply.
 
Hey I wanted to try out a booster package however when I logged in I only saw silver, gold and platinum. Is the booster no longer available? Thanks
 
Yeah man, they took the booster off the list of avail. products to buy. Long live the booster.

I'm a longtime client of Grindstone's and when one of my sites plateaued at the bottom of the front page, I hit him up for some help. After talking it over we decided to try out his new LL service (the one launching soon). Maybe a few days after completion the site jumped to #3 and has been there for almost a week with 0 bouncing. This is for a very competitive niche. Oh and the site is less than a year old.
