Worst year of my life, by far.

This reminds me of a guy who was in my electronics engineering class back at uni. His girlfriend got an electrical shock from a refrigerator in their house and he was charged with attempted murder for booby-trapping the fridge!

They somehow linked that because he was an "electrical expert" because of his studies.

He even had to go to trial and have his name splashed over the front page of the newspapers.

I knew the guy and he was just a normal, peaceful dude.

He was eventually found not-guilty, but it's pretty amazing how people get blamed for having no involvement in the first place.

Good luck with your issues mate and don't change your name. If you want to read an inspiring book, read "The Wolf of Wall Street" - Jordan Befort. He went from poor to rich to drugs to jail to poor and then back to rich again.

I have a network of hundreds of high PR sites that I use for various SEO services, and I would like to donate some REP Management services to help you bury this crap.

Send me a PM with some of the negative terms and what type of consulting you do and I will put a huge positive spin out there for you. :)

+ rep to you for extending a helping hand to a member. ftw

PS: Guerilla wasn't too far from the mark. Life is cyclical: sometimes your up, sometimes your not. Fight your way out of it -- it sucks, but dude that's life.

Such a mishappening I never ever heard...If you have some fund you can also move to some different island & start up your own new business

White people problems.

In all honesty, be glad to have been born here and keep on trucking. Dwelling on the past does nothing but slow down your future.

As a final note, you're probably experiencing some guilt for playing a role in a guy's death.

Be a better person when you get back on your feet.

That party was out of control, and you need to own up to it. Stop acting like your shit doesn't stink.

This motherfucker knows what he's talking about. Google the blog that he hasn't updated in years; you can still make money off of that bitch.

The worst thing about depression is that it fucks with your ability to focus. You have to snap yourself out of it each time you feel it coming on. Force yourself to do work, even if its just to keep yourself in the habit of working.

The sadness isn't real, its a time sink. Shit's fucked up bro, keep moving.

Boat drinks, motherfucker. That's what this shit is all about.

whats his blog URL? i cant find it on his profile.

Shit man, that is fucked up situation... I know it is hard, but try not to be depressed and hopeless... See this situation like a challenge... After this shit is done you will be stronger... Dont feel sorry for yourself, you will just be in deeper shit... Keep working, try other stuff, learn new things...

Good luck!

I don't want to condemn the OP. But you (the OP) brought this into your life. If you host a party allowing people to consume alcoholic beverages and/or narcotics, you should expect things like this will happen.

I don't think it was right you calling him an "idiot" even after death. Have some decency.

Anyway, like everyone else says, just man up and do what you have to do. Or if you want to play the victim, you can do that for a few years until you have no other option, but to man up.

If you host a party allowing people to consume alcoholic beverages and/or narcotics, you should expect things like this will happen.

So what you are saying is if you throw a party you expect your life to be fucked. What the fuck is a party without alcohol and/or drugs for a young 20 something person????

The OP is a young guy himself and it was just a party, give me a fucking break and don't be so sanctamoneous. I am sure you have done MUCH worse shit in your life than throw a party where some of your friends may or may not be under the age of 21.

The OP didn't deserve what happened to him. Sure a slap on the wrist for allowing under-agers drink in his house (21 is a stupid age anyway, most countries it's 18 and even then most kids drink way before that anyway).

The fact that someone killed themselves on his property is the only difference between him and countless other people. That was just bad luck on his part and anyone saying he deserves what is happening to him is fucked in the head.

OP, shit like this happens in life to toughen you up. Do a ton of reputation management (blow the bad stuff with your name way down the serps) and fight through it. Don't let the fuckers grind you down.

wow very hard to hear about this man. ive had my fair share of downs in life (for about a decade before i entered IM) and trust me things will always pick back up. it probably helped just posting your story and hearing supportive comments from people.

what i would do?

change my name legally (i would keep my first name just so i dont confuse and alienate myself from friends and family. perhaps just add "owski" to the end or "mc" to the beginning?

shit ton of rep management. i would start with web 2.0's with thick 2000 word aticles sitting on all of them. videos will help a lot too. perhaps just some slideshows. also facebook, mylife, twitter, linkdn all will come up above most of anything else. perhaps you could begin to gain rep management clients by doing a bad ass campaign for yourself and using it as a solid example of your work?

if your broke and you dont want to run rebills start with an easier niche like dating, games, surveys, mobile etc. you can get in for a low investment and make a few hundred a week even with a relatively weak campaign.

in the meantime i would be up front with the people that you think might know "before we get started there is something i'd like to get out of the way. ive had a lot of people twist the story around, but this is what has happened. im not looking for pity but this is what happened. you can see from my history..."

disregard anyone on here that are unsupportive - you know, the ones who spend ALL day every day being tough guys kicking people when they are down, in thread after thread.

ps i also have a few high auth/pr sites that i would be willing to throw some articles/links up on pm me if interested

i feel like a lot of people who are telling the guy to be positive and stop having a negative narrative, are [although coming from a good place] are kinda out of touch.

The guy is obviously successful, and has done well for himself up til that point when he got busted and a series of negative things happen to him.

I think anyone would depressed and may even be looking down the barrel of a gun if that had happen to them.

Not only did you lose everything, but you keep getting kicked down and get denied every opportunity that follows after.

Maybe you need therapy to help you overcome that. Do whatever you can do, to get a reset as much as you can, get someone to do some reputation management to take down the news articles from high rankings. Get a job that does check your background too much for the short term [i know that such a job will have crap pay and wil most likely be blue collar work].

if you can't be a 9-5 worker, you can at least work as a consultant or a 3rd party firm that does some project work for firms, all is not lost.

This is really why I like working for myself and being my own boss, I was training to be an account at some point, and then I realsied that I have this one strike and you're out looming over my head. If you have a criminal record, you're out of the accounting body and you cannot practice.. 10 years of study and on the field training gone just like that, poof!

You should have learnt to do your own affiliate gigs, even if it's a part time thing, i know that a lot of people prefer a 9-5 gig for whatever reason. But in this sector there are no job for life, if you can't make money you're out, and if you can make money, why not make some foryourself and keep more of it than you would if you work for a boss.

im a huge dick for posting part of a news article easily found on the internet right.
