Sorry, but this does not add up to "the media ruined me"

1. In no article the name of the party host is mentioned. "A home, local party, etc.." but no names. If people know you in your town, they'll know what is up, but do not blame the media.

2. Also, the death was not blamed on the party or the host. Rather your story is repeated (was invited by 2 women, etc..)

Also the "island" OK, it is an island, but not like in the middle of the ocean. Just move to the mainland and have this over with.

I agree that this is a shitty situation, but not unsolvable.

I found one that named 3 guys and the OP's girlfriend, to be fair on him. And I think it's a case of implication by association.

Ah yeah, fair point, just googled him, assuming he is who I think he is (going by the only one that doesn't have news articles coming up for his name, initials N.C.). No news articles come up. Although, if you search "N.C. [state]" you get a result on the second page. That shouldn't be too tricky to get rid of though.

And yeah, I haven't seen an article naming him as the guy who was hosting the party, like he was making out in the OP.

this is exactly what i was going to say.

i have a friend who went through the same thing and it ruined him INTERNATIONALLY. he was on good morning america, demonized everywhere, basically for just acting in self-preservation and hurting no one.

i've begged him to get into reputation management. that is exactly what i would do. (he's determined to turn into a self-help douche instead)

when i first saw the headline i thought i was going to want to call you a faggot for whining, but your shit is serious. that is a shit situation for sure, bro. but i think if you make the right move here, you could end up seeing it as a good thing...as hard as that is to see now.

i started my company when i got fired about 8 years ago. never looked back, never worked for anyone again.

Ahh, I didn't see his linkedin, nice sleuthing. And yeah, weird how the guy I mentioned's name seems to be pretty well dealt with, yet the other 3 are totally fucked over. No idea why that is.

And yeah, that seems to be the only other option apart from rep management. Maybe he could get a good lawyer and appeal, and have a nice press release written and submitted to the local newspapers? It'd be a lot better to have a bunch of stories coming up about him being acquitted. Or even do some fundraising for the local childrens hospital or whatever, and get a press release written.

Sorry to hear about all this! Yeah one little lapse in judgement or not knowing everything YOU SHOULD have been made aware of can seriously fuck your life up.

I do agree with some of those statements made here so.

#1 Move away from there and you may consider changing your circle of so called friends. Someone put you in major jeapordy there.

#2 Don't sit there - TELL your side of the Story. People will always judge by what they hear and read. If you keep quiet like that and only vent on here you are never getting you life back in order.

#3 DON'T give up. Hell I see one opportunity already! Write a book and sell it. I bet there are some people who would love to get their hands on it.
