What about the Unions? It seems the unions have an undue influence also. Do not get me wrong, most Corporations support liberal over regulation in order to support their market position and to hinder new entrants, in other words, restrict the free market.
But Unions are out of control. Especially, but not limited to, the Public Employee Unions and their campaign contributions/support. They are literaly are hiring the people in charge of their salaries/largess.
Those of you that are limiting your scope to the evil of the Corporation are not thinking broad enough.
Campaign finance is huge issue. But so is reapportionment, the proposed evil of the fairness doctrine which is true limitation of free speech, and the lack of tracking of smaller donations which, with the internet, can be used to covertly funnel millions to any candidate.
To say "get the money out of politics" is stupid, naive, and reflects a lack of a macro understanding of the world. How exactly would politics work then? No one is then able to support a candidate? I cannot produce and pass out brochures, books, flyers, and in today's day and age blog posts? Where is the line drawn between money and support? And once you allow me to spend some money, where does it end? When I buy a TV commercial?
Why don't these 99%'s put their collective intelligence together and figure out how it would really work in the real world. But that is asking too much from them, to actually create a solution. That is something we can only get from a 1%'r.
