Occupy Wall Street

Ok, this has gone on long enough. I don't give a crap about any of this OWS stuff. It's all just part of the reptilian/illuminati/nwo progression. Those FEMA camps? Those are going to come in real handy for a lot of the 99% if they start getting outta line.

But that's unimportant. It's a lost cause anyway. This thing about speed, distance and time, this has to be settled. And that video, why did you make me watch that thinking it would help resolve the whole inch thing.

Because it's hilarious.

I'm just saying, inches are used colloquially to mean all sorts of things that aren't just lengths. You don't have two inches of sense. Give him an inch, he'll take a mile (take a mile?). The inch worm inched along. Using inches to convey a meaning other than distance isn't out of line. That's all I'm saying.

If you can't get with this you might be on the wrong side of history.

This is exactly why this "protest" was tainted to begin with. It's full of a bunch of hipster pseudo-intellectuals who define their worth to the world by how many hours they've put into our education system. Nobody fucking cares if you put in 4 years into your local university. Good on you, but nobody gives a shit. There is no law that the completion of your degree means you'll instantly get a job in your relevant field.

Also, someone brought up this point earlier in this thread - people who go into debt over student loans, ESPECIALLY when getting a degree in some bullshit field that doesn't guarantee you a job AT ALL (aka 90% of degrees) and complain about it later are fucking SHORT-SIGHTED AND FOOLISH. You put yourself into debt without a 100% gameplan for paying it off afterward? If you're complaining about the debt, you better not have spent a single dollar on any fucking iPad or expensive skinny jeans. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I'm as fucking left-leaning as they come when it comes to most social issues, but I'll be DAMNED if I don't have a really strong opinion for all these fucking crybabies.

While I'm still ranting - I fucking LOVE those pictures going around online with some miserable adult holding notes up that say "I gambled all of my money by putting it into a business and it failed. I'm broke. I am the 99%."

ARE YOU STUPID?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I haven't seen that one, but it doesn't surprise me at all. I don't understand why anyone would just assume that starting a business would mean they'd be successful. I can't even count how many times I've failed on my hands and feet before I found something that worked. Why anyone would think the first shot would work is beyond me.

Taken from We Are the 99 Percent, a blog where random people list out all of their problems. It's good inspiration for working my ass off, if nothing else.

Good find. I have randomly found this one:

Code:
I dropped out of medical school 2 years ago because I decided to be a midwife,
and you can be anything you want, right?
Now, I don’t think I can afford to get another master’s
degree - I’ll be lucky to get my BSN.
I can’t move in with my parents because
I’m afraid of my large, homophobic (and also unemployed)
brother,
so I’m not sure what I’ll do when I wear out
my welcome at friends’ houses.

Let's attack the system because I have an ugly homophobic brother.
Most of these persons really need a good psychiatric treatment.

Yeah. By Government. Banks only exploit what government makes possible to exploit. Competition is the best regulator.

Agreed. Of course the banks will take what they can get. I get it, ..I don't give a fuck tho bc either way, we lose.

These protests are infinitely better than NOTHING.

I'm kinda surprised that a board usually full of RP supporters are being so negative and defeatist about these protests.

Much of the RP community feels this way. Some guy has repeatedly attacked on the DailyPaul, and calling me a commie for saying I was going to go to one of these events to hopefully convert some of these poor fools.

Admittedly, it is hard for me to get behind a movement that makes the following requests:

At this point I only really plan on attending the OccupytheFed protests hosted by Alex Jones.

maybe instead of going to school for theater/painting/social worker this retard should have just gotten a job instead. . . .

but what do i know I am one of those stupid guys that never received his degree because I got a job instead that comfortably supports a family of 4.

all this whole this proves is that 99% of the fucking people in it are dumb, lazy, fucks.

honestly, shit is hard, and stuff is to expensive, but a lot of you have been saying it over and over again in this thread. It is unfortuante that most people are in all this debt, but at the same time life is fucking hard, no one is going to hold your hand every step of the way. Going to school doesn't mean you get a job.

I do laugh at all of these photos people are posting, but the truth is that it's probably not their fault. It's the way they're brought up and what they're led to believe.

But at the end of the day i have no idea what the fuck they can possibly expect from this protest. Like what is the govt gunna do, apologize and wipe their debt clean and get them jobs? Fuck no.

Every single one of them can get 1 or 2 jobs somewhere, McDonalds, BK, etc.. but no, they're going to wine, sit on their ass, and continue to buy shit they can't afford and then blame someone esle. DUMB FUCKS

I don't understand the people who are down on this protest, these people are out there fucking doing something at least instead of debating this bullshit on a fucking forum.

They are out there standing up for their rights and doing the only thing they can to demonstrate they are pissed off. So what if it doesnt really accomplish anything, thats a shit argument. So what, they dont even try? you just pack it in and keep on being a slave and never stand up for what you believe in?

Do you all think the people in Egypt, Syria, libya were all educated articulate people who knew what they were all protesting? Fuck no they werent they just knew shit was messed up and wanted something new.

That is exactly what these people want they want some change and while they all dont want the same thing they can all agree things are not working in their favor.

I grew up poor as dirt and my family is still poor but they dont take handouts, they work hard. But shit is hard for them right now because business is down due to the recession but those assholes on wall street are making more money than ever. People are tired of the deck being stacked against them.

The world is always going to need people to stock shelves, unload trucks, cut rich assholes grass. How come some of you on this site cant seem to understand that? Some of you just want to be all holier than thou because you found a way to make some money on the internet and are now a bunch of wannabee 1%'s.

The focus of this entire thing is out of whack- yes, a lot of people who are protesting are doing it for the wrong reasons and really are just a bunch of lazy fucks looking for a free ride, but focusing on that is missing the point entirely. No sane person can honestly defend the banks in country in their current state, there are some glaring 'loopholes' that they take advantage of regularly to fuck everyone and generate revenue at the expense of the common citizen- yes, even the hardworking ones with jobs and work ethic, it's not just lazy assholes who are getting a shit deal, it's you too. They are just the ones making a fuss about it.

Both sides of this debate have some thinking to do. The protesters need to stop acting like a bunch of pussies and focus on ending corporate corruption instead of complaining about how their own choices fucked up their financial situations.

As for you guys putting down the entire movement because of the bad eggs, like it or not they seem to be the only chance of getting bankers and politicians to start playing fair, and if they get a reputation for being a 'left wing tea party' then all that shit goes out the window and the dirty corporate and political games keep on going. No one wants that, not even the farthest right-wing republican can possibly think that the way money changes hands in this country is okay.

In summary, hate the player not the game. I think.

dude, the people on wall street might be portrayed as sleezy, but the truth is that they are hustlers that busted their asses to make tons of money. theres nothing wrong with that.

i'm not saying that their isn't shady shit going on, but you can't point the finger at one fucking person, there is not one single person to blame for anything.

these protesters, they are protesting .. but for what? life is HARD, you have to be a grown up and make financially sound decisions. everything i've read so far is all about these people being in student debt ... well, they knew that would happen, they shouldn't have gone to school if they knew they couldn't pay it back.

fucking times are tough, and people need to deal with it, just like they would have back in the day. If this was my grandparents generation, ppl wouldn't be protesting.

bottom line is that i don't know what they plan to solve. what teh fuck will they change?
