I think 200 posts + 3 months old member criteria can help. Anyone trying to post threads earlier will be banned automatically, (No to pending for moderator review) I think such criteria can reduce work for Mods.

Most of the multiple threads are started by banned members, who are coming with new accounts.

I would love to see a forum mod that allows better searching if possible.. these vbulletin search functions are bitches..

for instance if I wanted to search for article submissions, I search for article submissions but I will get threads that have both the word article, articles, and submissions in them.. when I only want "article submissions" as a phrase to appear.. sort of like what would you type in Google in quotes..

search for "social bookmarking" on the boards and you get social, bookmarking as seperate phrases, and the chances of the threads that are returned from the search not offering social bookmarkings would be higher..

Not sure whether thats possible but that would help a lot.. I am sure a lot of buyers dont just go to the first page and browse but rather use the search function, but when the search returns you tons of useless results not related to what you are looking for, you would just give up completely

A trusted forum for providers with more than 30 itrader (or 200 posts and 10 itrader), or well aged service (just in case any of the good current crop don't have these numbers).

A new services forum for everyone else until they get voted into the trusted forum by members with high post counts/itrader. Just sticky a new thread where only old members can suggest services get promoted.

This way fake bumps, reviews and itraders are useless. Also it won't harm this site's traffic like charging fees would do. I think raising post counts will guarantee quality but it will also put a strain on mods to delete more spammers and fill up the forum with more semi-spam posts.

I believe just charging a reasonable fee will take care of this problem ($10 upwards plus a few $'s for each bump)...

Raising post counts will lead to a lot of non sense posts here and extra workload for the mods...

Exactly, and does anyone think these guys care about there current customers after the ban? Heck naw... They are banned now so they don't care about people being upset with them, they just take off with the money. It's happened to me, that's why I don't buy from newbies anymore. I learned the hard way. :(

I agree with the post count to start a thread, but moving those with less than x posts to "new starters" section would be a more balanced approach. New providers deserve a chance, from time to time some bright fresh ideas come about.

min post count of 200 or higher pls mod review before posting.

when zingo gets back you low quality providers better watch out heads are gonna roll

Why don't we just do a post requirement? I'm not opposed to a fee or something, but the post requirement would solve it a lot faster & more efficiently.

I'd much rather see a thread from someone that's been forced to post 100 times (and not get banned by then) rather than pay $10 and still have a shitty offer from a person that doesn't understand how shit works. At least with the posting they'll be forced to find out what we're about ... or just get banned.

</2 cents>

If you will add post requirements than people will start spamming on other category to raise their posts ... and this will increase the mode work load again.

Fixing a price with a time frame (may be 2 months old) will solve this problem.

BHW is the best example of it ... and they are working quite fine and raising their paypal balance as well.

what 200+ post count to post in BST? :stonedsmilie: .. it doesnot seems good to me at all :glowingeyes_sml: .. people will try to spam other threads also.

Better if post count 50+ and Account active from last 3 to 6 months. 50+ post count is not a big deal if they actively participate in the forum for 2 to 3 months WITHOUT SPAMMING!

For THOSE PEOPLE WHO Joined Recently and willing to sell then they can pay fees to start a thread! Make fees about $20 to $30. So only real seller will pay fees and Spammers will run away because if they will sell their service for huge price then they have to give review service to reputed member, if they charge less and their service not good then people will leave bad review and kick his thread out automatically. if OP bump again and again then Mods Can ban him without thinking twice.

I really like the ideas people are coming up with here. Just a little charge to whoever is selling services will be both good for the buyers like me and sellers as well.

Somebody took bofu's suggestion very seriously, and was working hard it the day he joined. http://www.wickedfire.com/members/wicked-weasel.html
Became a senior member too, the day he joined.

Please ban him when the mods are at it please.

Please for the love of God do this.

Eg: All BST threads go into a Queue.

There should be three sections:

1. Noobs: no post count, no itaders necessary. Must be mod approved, must give 2+ free reviews
2. Senior Members: 100+ posts. Must be mod approved, free reviews encouraged, but not necessary
3. Trusted Sellers: 200+ posts, 50+ itraders

This will allow the good sellers to be on top of the one page that will be visited by everyone.

I'll throw my hat in with the "min post count" crowd.

Getting 100 posts past the mods without getting banned will be enough of a deterrent.

And seriously - while I do moderate and ban a lot of spammers, I can't do a lot in BST except for very, very obvious stuff.

So yeah, min post count. +1
