I just left an 80 cent tip...

I feel like an asshole if I don't give them $2 bucks so unless it's late or something I always tip that for drivers. And if I don't feel like tipping 2 bucks I don't order pizza.

Fuck pizza hut, fuck papa johns, fuck dominoes and fuck every other shitty corporate pizza chain. Reward the small business owners IMO, they usually have better stuff at around the same price.

Semi related rant:

Not so long ago people spent all day trying to stab a buffalo with a sharp stick or slaving away in the fields endlessly to feed themselves. Now you can surf over to food network or allrecipes.com (my personal fave), look up a delicious meal that (easily) costs < $20 AND < ~30 minutes to make, buy the stuff all nicely packaged at the store, eat great healthy food and live a nice long life.

Instead, people decide to eat horrible tasting fast food and frozen shit dinners because that way you can make it back to the TV before the commercials are over...stupid humans.

Fucked in the head is the right way to describe it, or don't understand simple business. In order to keep prices as low as they can for those customers that cost them less time and money (which makes them more competitive), they charge EXTRA for an EXTRA service that costs them EXTRA money. More fucked up is the guy who is questioning why they are tipping someone for the 5 seconds they spend at the door, as if that person magically transported to their front door. Too many videos game brah, this isn't Portal.

Rule #1 of restaurants is: Don't fuck with the people that handle your food. Well, unless you like bad things happening to your food.
 
Pretty sad you can't throw the guy a dollar or two.. If you absolutely can't do that, why the fuck are you ordering delivery food to begin with? Go to Walmart and buy turkey and bread, you broke, cheap ass motherfucker.

I usually tip 30% or more. Motherfuckers are broke as shit and it's how they make a living. Only fuck faces and low-class assholes don't tip. And eurofags like Mattseh, of course.

On holidays like thanksgiving and xmas or xmas-eve I will tip 50% or 100% because I feel bad for the mother fucker (or mother fuckerette). The money means shit to me but it will make that persons day, maybe even make their week.

probably not wise to "stiff" someone who can come into contact with your future food purchases (unless you enjoy special toppings: fecal matter, semen etc).

Me too. Not too sure why tipping someone who is making your life easier is a problem? These guys work on tips and its an accepted part of society. Thats just how it is. If you have a problem with tipping, go in and pick it up yourself.
 
Tipping imo is something you do when someone does a great job and deserves something extra, so you tip to show appreciation of their fine craftsmanship. It is not supposed to be some fucking extra charge to the bill exclusive to only a few branches of people in the service industry. If the pizza was delivered fast and you feel he deserves a tip then go for it.

Saying you should tip them because you make more money than the Delivery guy is pretty troll. If you want to donate money go give some money to a charity, or do you really think a guy who delivers pizza deserves and needs the money more than giving the money to medicines for disease ridden kids in Africa or some such shenanigans. A tip is a tip, not a charge, if it is a charge they need because if they do not have it they pay the drivers enough, then add it to the bill.

That being said I do tip, mostly just by rounding up to whatever sum is reasonable though. If the pizza delivery comes out as like 19.20 I am not going to give him 21~22$, but if it comes out at 17.20 I am not going to ask for my 2 dollars back =p
 
Meh, shitty thing to do. That 80c will probably not even cover the gas he spent to get to you.

As someone else in this thread mentioned, $1 to me is worth much differently than to someone that delivers pizza. I know the OP is tight on cash but for the others in the thread that disagree on tipping; those few extra dollars you give means a whole lot to them than it would to us. I do not mind leaving a delivery man $4/$5 when it would put a smile on his face and possibly put more food on the table for his family.

Back to the OP though, not sure why you made this thread. Almost seems like you're bragging, or want to receive support on your decision.

If it's like a ~$20 item, I'll tip $5 if it's the regular delivery boy. Believe it or not, it actually makes me feel happy to make someone's day.

The fact that you used the phrase "rat delivery boy" pretty much proves that you seriously lack empathy. Maybe you should walk a mile in his shoes and deliver pizzas for a day.

Something tells me you'll be delivering those pies in no time though. It's not like your Internet marketing career is a smashing success or anything.

couple of points:

1. the other tipping thread, everyone was like "tip cause the service was good". Ok, whats constitutes good service driving me my pizza? All the guy has to do is get here on time, what more could he do? if he is late I get it free anyways.

2. I hope one day I find jizz, spit, shit in my food. I will not only have the driver DNA tested for it, but have the store in a lawsuit as well for violated health codes. Let my lawyer find a note in their computers too about how I tip bad, it will better my case.

3. What happens if you dont have tip money purely by accident, get labeled a cheap ass, then on your 2nd order you got a 40% tip in hand to make up for the last mistake but the fucker already shit on your food? Seem like your fucked before you can make it right.

4. If the guy has to get by on tips cause pizza hut doesnt give them the fee and he cant make it on gas, he needs to find a new job. That like you not being able to cut it on affiliate marketing, you'd find something else to do right?
 
I left an 80 cent tip for a Hooters waitress once. She was ugly so I felt she hadn't quite performed her professiona duties.
 
A few days ago, in a restaurant I go regularly, some Russian dude tipped the waiter €500 (in a €400ish charge). Fucking oligarch made me feel broke.
