I just left an 80 cent tip...

be fucked to live in a place where tipping is considered the norm and "payback" for a supposed bad tip is also considered the norm. How fucked up is that. If you can't pay a decent living wage, then don't start a business that needs to rely on slave labour to turn a profit.
$2.75 min wage? Only in a 3rd world country you'd expect...

What an angel you are, bless your soul.

Now seriously, why don't you tip 50% all the time you cheap asshole? Only 30% usually? I am disappoint.

On thanksgiving last year my GF and I went to Perkins and ate. The bill came to like $46 or some shit. The waitress was a 60-something lady, very nice and helpful as she worked on thanksgiving when most people are home with their families.

Anyway, I left her tip, don't remember how much it was but it was more than 50% and less than 100%. Anyway, lady caught me going out the door and called me to stop and said "you didn't have to do that" and I said something like "yea but I wanted to" or whatever.

Fucking lady hugs me and was all emo about it. I mean really, that $30 or so means shit to me and fuckin made her day which in turn made my day.

Good deal.

I was agoing to chime in and call you an asshole, until it was pizza.

Delivery drivers get at least minimum wage. And the delivery change imposed by pizza hut does not go to the driver.

Maybe 50%, as that is what is was years ago, 50cents on a dollar delivery.
Pizza Hut keeps the rest, which is a matter all its own.

A server in a restaurant is different. They have to pay out a % of their total SALES, so leaving an 80 cent tip, most likely will COST them money.

I usually tip 30% or more. Motherfuckers are broke as shit and it's how they make a living. Only fuck faces and low-class assholes don't tip. And eurofags like Mattseh, of course.

On holidays like thanksgiving and xmas or xmas-eve I will tip 50% or 100% because I feel bad for the mother fucker (or mother fuckerette). The money means shit to me but it will make that persons day, maybe even make their week.

Troolproof brah

I tip delivery people based on hotness and/or apparent mental stability.

Srsly though they're always the most grateful people... give them a 25% tip or above and they're blown away. I believe however, at least around here, all tips from waiters, delivery guys, etc. are all pooled together and split evenly between the staff.

used to be cool to be ballin... now i guess its cool to be poor... i need to get with the times

It is the fucking FTC.

A delivery charge on pizza... I've never heard of such a thing. That's just crazy talk. There is a service in Vancouver called "Take Out Taxi" that delivers food from restaurants that don't have delivery drivers and they do charge. Restaurants with delivery drivers like pizza/pasta, Tony Roma's, Chinese, Indian, etc. don't charge anything extra for the delivery and I always tipped between $2 and $10, depending on the size of the order, how fast it got there, if I was a regular, etc. etc.

I owned a couple Domino's Pizza stores back in the early 90s.. Glad I got out when I did for a lot of reasons..

Here is why there is a delivery charge.. They don't want the price of the pizza to go over $20.. People will stop buying them.. Everyone here understands that people are stupid.. No one would pay $22 for a pizza, but they will gladly pay $19.50 + $2.75 delivery charge for one.. Just like adding $18 to the shipping cost of something on eBay..

And I tip heavy on pizza because I did it for 10 years.. I know that they see my name come up on the computer, yeah, I'm fat but I love pizza, and know they are going to get a great tip and my order goes to the front of the line and is nice and hot when I get it..

This policy allows the restaurant to keep costs low. The consumer really benefits from this policy. High minimum wage actually drives the cost of goods and services up. When it comes down to it I'd much rather be able to tip based on how I feel the server performed than have to pay their high minimum wage regardless of service. Most people I know don't mind tipping 15-20% if the service is good. If they really suck, then I tip less, but most of the time it's not a problem. Also, if you're paying the wait staff high minimum wage if you chose to pick up your food, you're actually paying for a service you didn't get. Sounds like BS if you ask me.

The driver DOES see the delivery charge its call hourly pay. If the place won't pay him more its not your fault. He's fucking delivering pizza's, he's a bum.

Don't tip him shit. Encourage him to make something of himself.

So by not tipping him you are doing him a favor?

Do half of you even think about what you're saying before you say it?

Cheap, that's all I can say. And why even make a thread about it, so everyone else can see how cheap you are?

funny coming from someone pushing free Dropbox links in his sig. If you like the service so much, just pay for more space and tip them for the service while your at it. Yeah, didnt think so.

Anyone who says, "they need to get a new job," as a justification for being cheap, someone has to do the job.

thats right, and someone WILL do the job when he leaves. There is a revolving door of people doing this job every day.

When the day comes there is less people, the smart companies will pay more and get all the drivers. Its called adaptation.

Tell me why, i should do anyone a favor I dont know.

ill do someone a favor when I feel like it and when its needed, i can think of a million more people then the pizza driver that need a favor done for them. Lets start with the people in Japan, Katrina peeps, etc..

You took my comment out of context, bro.
