Healthy food to eat at night?

Not looking to get into an argument here, but you can live your entire life without ever eating a gram of carbohydrate (your body will synthesize them from amino acids via gluconeogenesis).

Can't live without protein or fat, though.

indeed i remember reading about ketogenic diets, eg being in a low carbohydrate state and your live converting fatty acid chains to ketones.

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children. The diet mimics aspects of starvation by forcing the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fuelling brain function. However, if there is very little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis, leads to a reduction in the frequency of epileptic seizures

Nothing to argue about because I never said not to eat any fat or protein ;)

But in short - if you eat enough calories from high carb foods you will easily meet your protein and fat requirements so even if what you say is true (I don't know) it's kinda irrelevant :/

your wrong there are two types of carbs monosaccarides and polysaccaharides the latter being the best carb for the body
and do you even have the slightest idea of how much protein a healthy adult male with an active lifestyle should eat? 1-1.5g per lb of bodyweight, now go eat candy(high carb food) all day and try to reach that quota!

Yes, because I recommend eating candy and drinking Coke to get your carbs.

u said high carb foods, you didnt specify what types of foods therefore you left it open for interpretation so in return it leads me to believe that you are a fucktard

You're a fucking idiot. Here, let me quote myself:

Eats lots of your favourite fruit. By lots I mean like 5-10 servings of whatever it is. 5 bananas, 5 mangoes, half a watermelon, 5 oranges/grapefruits, 7 apples, etc...why so many? You'll get a lot of calories from carbs, you'll feel full and won't get fat.

You shouldn't have your last meal later than 4 hours before bed generally though.

Eat something high protein if you want to feel full faster and take in less calories.

Things I like in general:

- Tuna
- Eggs
- Cottage Cheese
- Chicken
- Whey protein powder (the kind that doesn't have artificial sweetener Amazon.com: NOW Foods Whey Protein Isolate, 100% Pure 5Lb: Health & Personal Care). And mix it with some kind of sugar free beverage, like Unsweetened Almond milk, or coffee (lol tastes good with a splash of heavy cream and vanilla)

I've lost 25 lbs by including more healthy proteins into my diet. I eat high carbs once a week now, on a planned day.

Everyone arguing ITT. Please post self shot pics. I've read so much misinformation that you might as well show yourselves to make it easier for everyone to see how informed you are.

Haha good point. I would, but I'm still fat. Regardless, 25 lbs down, people won't believe me anyway if I post a pic. Still have like 60 lbs to go.

This is an old thread brostysss
But I have a question for M0rtal. Because I like the idea of losing 50 pounds without exercising, and still eating quite a bit...
Did/Do you live primarily on fruits only? I mean how as your diet like
What exactly did you do to lose 50 Pounds... ?
My diet consists mainly of meat cooked in fat.. and lots of veggies, which is good, but lots of fat and meat too, and I am cutting down... but still.
But I can consume fruits too, lots of it.. and This looks like something doable..
Can you share your plan?

PPS: Don't eat 5 Mangoes... I always get "boils" in the arse and pimples if I overdo Mangoes... which I tend to do once every year, as I consume 10s of it in a day when I get the good variety like Alfonsos.... I heard it doesn't happen in Cold places... But in hotter places, Mangoes are like pimple Machines...

Cottage cheese hands down... Your body has a hard time breaking it down and it will keep your metabolism running for hours after you sleep.

That being said, I could never eat that shit... it's like curdled milk!

I hate cottage cheese, but if you like it that is a good suggestion as others have mentioned. Sometimes I add a scoop of protein powder with my cottage cheese and it becomes a super protein meal.

Lately I have been eating less so I eat 2 sticks of string cheese + 2 slices of turkey or ham (low sodium, no nitrites, organic). Comes out to about 300 calories and 20g of protein, 0 carbs.

Casein (aka cheese/milk) is better for overnight sleeping since it gets processed slower so your body keeps getting protein during the night. Which is why cottage cheese is so good if you can stomach it.

If you're working that late your brain needs energy from high fat protein or low glycemic impact carbs. I do almond butter, berries and yams or protein shakes late at night. Contrary to popular belief, it's good to have something in your gut overnight to keep your blood sugar from being all fux0red before breakFAST.

4 eggs cooked in coconut oil and a serving of black beans. Good amount of protein for 400 calories and all the fiber in the beans will make you take a healthy shit the next day. Or take out 1 egg, add in a wrap shell and some salsa for a breakfast burrito.
