EPN is going to fuck us! QCP Preview Available

I got crushed by some bots from China or India and my EPC sunk like a rock.

Implemented .htaccess blocking for IPs across a bunch of 3rd world countries and it's back on the up and up.

I can't remember which website I copied/pasted the .htaccess IP ban code from, but it's out there if you want it give it a search.

I just stated blocking IPs from anywhere but US because a2p can not be geo-targeted. I'll let you guys know how it works.

I had a PM from doug about this so I might as well post i there. Copy paste to end of your .htaccess:

Does anybody think the EPN network is going to get better with Steve gone? Or just headed in the same destructive direction regradless?

Word is even more tracking coming in soon, more metrics looking at whether they would get the sale or not you sent them the lead.

Doesn't sound good to me.

Ugh.

There shouldn't be ANY metrics, the only reason to move away from Sales Commissions to QPC is to make them more money. BS.

On a side note, my 0.00epc's are gone, yesterday was a whooping 0.02epc and today was a killer whale 0.03epc

MOVE THE BUS, I AM COMING THROUGH!

Heads up, epn blog post I just spotted. NOTE: THIS IS JUST FOR NON-US STUFF

RSS feed is being updated
February 9th, 2010

From Wednesday 10th Feburary, we will be adding some new parameters to the links generated by the RSS feed for publishers promoting non-US programs. Publisher links will automatically be changed to the new link structure.

For the vast majority of publishers, there will be no need to make any changes to the way you promote eBay or to how the RSS feed is configured. However, if you are using software or tools to further manipulate the RSS feed links (e.g. Build A Niche Store or PHPBay), you may need to check that your links still work properly after the change has been implemented. If you experience any issues, please contact your software or tool provider.

Below are examples of an RSS feed link in the current and new formats:

Example of current format RSS feed link:

february so far, 5 winning bids, 7 acrus: stuck at €0.01
bots are totally filtered out now, but I probably got hit at the end of january ( not that many clicks by the way )

When they punish you, it takes weeks to come back.

I was running at 100% of WBR last month until they jacked up the RSS feeds.

Now I am running at 15% of WBR even though my clicks, bid volume and WBR are all back to normal.

QPC is a system you want to be proactive under. If you get caught by surprise, they will hammer you.

Guys at PHPbay are reporting some fucked up statistics since the change. I am talking clicks that are way down for all countries other than the US which went significantly up.

My clicks have really been up and down, no clue whats happening.

To top it off, Since Feb. 1st, I have had 44 sales, 3 ACRU's and my EPC was 0.00 for 3 days, .01 for 3 more, and .02/.03 every other day.

FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

(I hate ebay)

I've had the opposite - yesterday was my best day ever - EPC for yesterday was $0.33.

The hilarious part is I have no idea why - there was one $1500 item sale and one $500 item sale but those are within the "normal" parameters of the stuff I was doing.

I did have a record # of clicks - but not by a huge margin. It was about 30% above the previous high - and I have bots blocked.

It would be nice if I had some sort of variable to test...

my EPCs dropped from .2 to about .01 overnight and haven't been back since (been about 3 weeks)...what can i do to proactively improve this?

Are you blocking foreign surfers? Have you tested your feeds are working?

What about visitor counts? Consistent traffic? Serp rankings?

When something is wrong, I check everything to see what has changed.
