Kaveman, that is a very good explanation of how to gain the initial capital to sustain a stable "PPC base" or even an organic base.

There is no fooling anyone, but be careful don't get greedy if you can only afford to pay for 6000 targeted visitors your first month don't spend the $50 to get 50,000 visitors to boost your stats because that would make it a scam because your not sustaining that much traffic.

Anyone out there that uses one of these sites and care to make a referral? Or will any old one do?
 
Just search on Google "bulk traffic." Its all crap.

There are always people on webmaster forums claiming they turned a profit from some traffic site. Why? Because they own it.

There are probably plenty of people here that could give you traffic for free, heck you could do it yourself.

It's crap because you don't really get the traffic? Or it's crap because you don't get quality targetted traffic?

it's crap because the traffic is either artificial (bots via proxies), or at best it will be pop-up/under traffic which rarely converts.
 
Don't get things confused... You're not going to want to run something like this based purely on purchased traffic from sources like these.

As Kaveman stated, this is a fairly simple way to get visitors into the site so you can begin capturing advertisers (they pay for the advertising space) and build a larger PPC (or whatever else you're going to use) budget.

Ok. What I'm thinking about is more along the lines of what Aequitas said (sometimes referred to as Kaveman ;) ) The point is just to get the initial traffic to then have stats to show advertisers. It has nothing to do with targeted traffic because you aren't trying to convert anything on the site (or maybe you are, but it's secondary to just getting subscribers) so for instances like this, bought bulk traffic would work. I guess my question just was are these people for real, will they really send 6K hits your way or is the whole thing a scam? the information out on google is contradicting.
Then after the first few months you should have already been working on your own stuff (SEO and back links...etc) to not need to do this anymore.

I don't know it still seems a little shady to me....you are still presenting a false front to the subscribers, even if you intend to make up for it later. (luckily there is no Sarbanes-Oxley for this stuff, at least not yet)

It can be considered slightly shady but perfectly alright look at it this way. My website starting off has 0 traffic and 0 advertisers.

Month 1 I instantly pay for 6000 shit visitors to boost my stats (Takes at most 2 days and $10 bucks), right after I get those 6000 visitors I take the screenshots, ect.. of my 6000 visitors, avoid displaying any such dates for now.

Right after I have those screenshots in my first month I start sending PPC traffic to the site (Targeted and valued), cost be about $300 for 6000 clicks depending on your niche.

Now after month 2 or around month 2.5 I can take a real screenshot of my stats with dates and all showing a stable 6000 unique visitors each and every month.

You see even though I'm showing the advertisers stats for shit traffic in my first month I'm still sending targeted valued PPC traffic to the site in that first month and second month and so on.

All you need is a screenshot to work with. (Fuck if you wanted to get scammy you could fake those initial screenshots until you get 6000 visitors with PPC for that month).

So you see its not a matter of sending good traffic months down the road your already sending good traffic basically mixed in with the shit traffic, all you need is immediate stats to show your advertisers.

Now be careful again because if your advertisers are tech savvy they could go out and check your domain age and if its only been registered for a few days they might think something suspecious of you posting a monthly stat.
 
Interesting idea.

I bought a domain name for this, and I am currently trying to age it a little bit before approaching advertisers, get some links going..Some organic traffic.

As far as the bulk traffic goes, can you get 1, 000 visitors per day for 6 days or increasing for each day. For example, 100 the first day, 400 the next and so on?

That way it might look more believable.
 
couple noob questions...

1. what is the purpose of the scrapper? Is it to pull advertisers off of yellow pages and place them on your directory? or is it for SEO reasons?

2. What directory software would you recommend? I came across eDirectory - Online Directory Software. Any body use this? Any good?...
 
any tips on how to grow traffic to it fast so that advertisers get enticed easily?
 
Is there a way to easily import urls / descriptions into ANY directory software?

hi, nice idea but it sounds like to much like webdesign which is going back for me & too much work, I hate marketing, trying to convince people.. i think it could work well if you can set it up to be automated .

Still very new to all this but I'm taking a good run at correctAd's directory suggestions. The website is: goBoozen Home Page. So far.. I decided to go with eDirectory for the program. They have all the features i was looking for and got me up and running in less than 48 hours. Used krazyjosh5's scrapper, driving traffic with PPC, and taking some desperate attempts at SEO. Considering purchasing links through textlinkads, but haven't done so yet. I decided not to go with the whole idea of using a traffic generator to drive a lot of initial traffic to impress the potential advertisers. Not only did it all seem like a big scam, but also didn't want it to hurt my google rankings if for some reason i was caught. Wanted to keep this as legit as possible.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome. I'll keep posting my progress so you all can see if I fail or not :)
