Many of us here are very busy with making money online, but still see time to participate here as well! How are you guys doing that?

I am also wondering how much time per day do you really spend on forums besides working on your projects?

It sometimes happen to me that it's too cosy (to put it that way!) on the forums and like to communicate with others, but forget about working on my projects in order to bring in money or even not feeling like working on my projects that particular day and stay on the forums!

This also happen to you or it's me only?? :)

Happens to me all the time, I think its a big reason for the shortcomings of my sites.

I know what you mean!

The other problem what happens to me is that I read about plenty of interesting 'opportunities' on the forums, but not writing them down on paper for example and therefore forget about it after a while... How you guys tackle this?

Used to be a huge problem for me.. as you can see I still spend a lot of time on forums, but it helps keeps things interesting and gives me tons of ideas.

For me it's starting work which is always the hardest. If I start, I can easily go for a few hours and it seems like I've been working for 5 minutes.

I'm big on writing down what I need to do. I keep a diary and notebook next to me and always write down what I need to do and when it needs to be done by.

Maybe that's an idea I should do as well: to write down on paper great business opportunities, handy tools to use, etc. :)

I definitely have that problem. I'd say I spend at least 50%+ of my 'working' day on forums... Solution that I'm considering, start up a network of forums.

Michel - its like you read my mind!
I was wondering the same thing. How you guys find time to frequent these forums. I see a lot of you Frequenting multiple forums and have no idea how you do it. Kudos to you guys.

Personally, im a slow reader as well, so this takes me a loooooong time

"I keep a diary and notebook next to me and always write down what I need to do and when it needs to be done by." - GREAT IDEA-

yeah i do exactly the same! Im also building an arcade site atm, its so tempting tpo click on the games and have a quick play. I waste quite a lot of time doing that

there are plenty of worse ways to 'waste your time' besides reading affiliate marketing forums...

i don't really spend much time on forums like i used to. but i always have a hard time focusing on things. i get distracted easily with any new and cool stuff

two of my sites are abandoned becoz i suddenly fell into this deep hole called affiliate marketing.

I do spend a lot of time on this forum but I don't think it hurts my productivity, I actually think it increases it. It would be very hard to work 15 hour days, everyday, without taking breaks. This is where I come to take some breaks.

I spend a lot of time on this forum also, but it doesnt hurt productivity. I think that everyone needs a break from the grind. So I just come in here and then do my work in other windows or on the other monitor, then do a little, tab over read tab back over etc. I find I am more productive taking various breaks throughout the day.

But it all depends on how your wired also. A few years ago I had to keep on the same task non-stop, I guess It is getting easier to do more than 2-3 things at once.

Check out this topic here on the forum re: productivity.

I just recently started posting on forums last month.

It fills some socializing needs. I work every day (two wage earning jobs) and am learning the ways of the internet entrepreneur. I have free time mostly in the morning, late at night, or in small blocks. It takes more time to make arrangements for a 15 minute meeting in person than to physically meet! The forums are available on my schedule for as much or as little time as I have. I can even leave and come back as needed in the middle of posting!

I am learning a lot while having fun on forums. I easily get distracted checking new things out! Forums can bring in traffic, even if not a lot compared to other areas, its the old saying...don't put all your eggs in one basket. Traffic is good from all streams. Who knows where that one great contact will come from that really knocks it up a notch for you!

I open an e-mail to myself when I'm on the forum and as I see something I might be interested in, I copy and paste a link on the e-mail. When I'm working on research, I then go to that e-mail and check out the info. I save what's helpful, I add links to my permanant list, discard, etc.

If posting on several forums, focus on one or two per day if there isn't a pressing answer needed from one. For example-Saturday is for Wicked Fire and Forum X. Monday is for Forum Y and Z. You could even post in your blog the day you will be on a particular forum!

I like the opening page idea, next larger block of time I have available, I will have to do that!

Learning and researching on blogs and forums is part of being a webmaster..

Anyone have a rock solid routine to increase productivity?

e.g.

emails in mornings, check earnings for previous day, clients, work on projects and finally spend the night surfing forums & blogs..

that pretty much sums up my day
