Are you also sometimes spending too much time on forums instead of making money?

Haha, this is so true. One reason, though, is that I'm at work and can't really work on my sites. However, I find myself victim to this also at home, so no excuse for me.

Anyone have a rock solid routine to increase productivity?

e.g.

emails in mornings, check earnings for previous day, clients, work on projects and finally spend the night surfing forums & blogs..

that pretty much sums up my day

Unfortunately most of my hours are eaten up w/2 wage earning jobs (38 hours at one and 28 at the other). So I am not much help for a schedule. My plans are more get certain tasks done per week. I'm justing getting into the routine of the new second job and am trying to find a balance and get caught up on a few things.

I would suggest figure out your how you work best first, then make a plan. What time of day are you most energetic? Are you more efficient working on one task or multitasking? What is your efficient number of tasks at a time? Are you better at large or small blocks of time? Figure this stuff out first. Fighting against your "natural" routine, who you are, will make any schedule more difficult. It drains energy that is best used elsewhere. Work with who you are and the way you are.

Make a list of what you need to work on regularly and when.

Take the two lists and merge them. Make sure you balance it with fun/free time and friends/family that are physically with you. It might take a few trials before you discover what works for you. Don't give up!

Gathering info from people who are successful at the balance will only help you have more tools to discover what works best for you and who you are.

I def work best at night.. no distractions.. but you need to handle clients in day time.

Luckily I work for myself (infin8.co.za) although its not publishing for my own sites its clients web design work..

I just fucked my routine up right now.. surfing forums in the morning.. cant help it! :error:

Thanx for the tips..
