Anyone Stoked for Apple's Tablet Release?

trur true

i totally hear ya, but the thing is, Apple could make whatever it wanted, but if they made an iPad device a few quarters ago, it would have sold but it prob wouldnt have been the best.....I think Apple tries harder to make a product the best, cause yeah, everyone has tablets and touch screens, but they put some more effort into it.

this is just an oversized ipod touch. i am going to get one just cause it looks good, but that's all apple products are good for - the design. practicality can be found elsewhere

Gotta wait for a 2nd or 3rd gen. They always release their new technologies before its been tested and convince the consumer to just upgrade when it starts to break.

That being said, I'll probably be first in line. If its half as addicting as my ipod touch, I may never leave the house again.

This, or wait a couple months for them to drop the price so it's more comparable with a netbook. That's all it's really good for.

Why on earth would I get this thing over a netbook? In my opinion it doesn't even look that good, the black frame is too thick and the corners are too rounded for my taste.

No word on a new iPhones or update to the iPhone OS. --> iFail

Wouldn't you want to be able to lay this thing down flat on the table in front of you so you can type on it like a keyboard?

Looking at the pictures the back is curved which means when typing on a flat surface the thing is gonna wobble around won't it...?

So to recap:
iPad announced, Jobs plays a YouTube video: AAPL -$2.50
iPad plays OpenGLS games: AAPL +$0.50
iPad 3G will be unlocked, use Micro-GSM cards: AAPL +$2.50
iPad will cost $499-$829: AAPL +$6.00

Whatever... I bought my iPad domains today.

So in other words the only way to type on the thing and functionally utilize it is to buy a keyboard for it and turn it into a weird looking laptop/desktop?

No, the case tilts it up, if you look in the other picture. (Obviously, you'd have to tilt it the other way).

But honestly, this thing isn't meant for heavy typing. It's meant for doing light tasks (that 90% of people mostly use their laptop for anyway). Like Facebook, music, video, doing sending an e-mail or two, reading books. Maybe checking stats. Not to mention your contacts (if you happen to have friends or something, idk, I don't really have any) or keep a calendar (not really me either), but who knows.

A laptop (even a netbook) is really too much to lug around. Watching movies on a laptop sucks if you're not at a desk.

Plus, you can make easy "infoproduct" apps for your iPad now.

You don't really need a keyboard for that above shit. That's why you have this.

Unfortunately, we'll have to see how hard it is to throw on non itunes music/video.

Also, you have these people who have iPhones/iTouch apps that they've spent all this money on. You can't really leave those behind for another device.

tl:dr - This is for real people who don't use computers real heavily. (Girls, Hipsters, Old People)
