Seriously, they don't know anything. They manage to continually invent new things and discover more and more about the earth we live in simply by regurgitating data that was compiled by other scientists who also can't think.

Imagine how much cool tech we all could have if only our scientists started thinking??... We could have electronical devices that we used our fingers to write words, and then those words could be transmitted across lines using electricity!! We could talk to people all over the world instantly without having spend months traveling in our horse drawn carts!!.....

They are very bad at predicting the future based off the data, or don't know where to look to get accurate data to begin with. This is the same reason most people think America is in an economic recovery and that everything is okay with our fiat dollar. They aren't cut out for the kind of thinking that separates the men from the little boys. And most scientists are little boys as they will follow fragmented pieces of information and measure pointless things but never be able to actually put it all together and really do something of value. This type of denial happens all the time. Do you know the number of people out there that say they're "not religious" in order to avoid saying there an atheist, because it's such a dirty word. Although I guess I don't blame them, given the widespread persecution to Atheists. But until enough of you guys come out of the closet, the fear and hatred towards Atheists will continue.

Atheism is the non belief in a god or deity, it is not an organised religion or society, so as a person who doesn't believe in god he is an atheist by definition, whether he likes it or not.

In most of Europe religion touches almost every part of society in some way or another and not seeing that shows ignorance in its highest form. The only countries that might be a slight exception to this are the more secular countries (read atheist) like Sweden. You clearly do not get around and have not been to places like Spain, Italy, Ireland, France etc. if you think that religious people and religious influence isn't all around effecting all of us whether we like it or not.

The only reason that you might find that some atheists are more vocal is that we are sick and tired of living our lives being dictated by religions. It is basically a revolution and we are starting to win. If atheists stay passive and quiet then that means that we have accepted that we must live as second class citizens that are resigned to the fact that we must live our lives in the servitude of your beliefs i.e. lobotimised sheep
