lmao,

Yea I LOLed too. Feel sorry for those newer pubs who have no idea wtf is really going on. As I understand, now, the only people pushing any volume that are getting paid - are the guys on weeklies. It's a trade off - they know they're risking that last weekly payment - in exchange Epic pays them weekly - to get at least some cash flow going in. Other than that pretty much no one is sending them anything on terms longer than weekly (you'd have to be mildly retarded to do so). So in a fact it's a "run on the network" in terms of cash flow - similar to "run on the bank".

The poll started off with 60%=will not fold, 40%=will fold. It moved to 50/50 first. And now it's at 60%=will fold. If Epic had junk bonds - that would translate into their price falling pretty steeply. Don't get me wrong - I think there is a chance they will not fold - it's just very interesting to see this unfold forgive the pun.

I find 50000 an interesting number. That's likely too many pubs to be considered active and not enough to boast about if you include cancelled/rejected. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure CJ would have topped 100K affiliates in the 90's, for what that's worth. Whether they're the first to hit it or not, it's still an impressive number.

If epics hurting then you know every other network trying to put on a straight face is feeling something too. If epic goes down it would be pretty damn hard to trust any network with large amounts of money.

I think this could be a good thing for the industry. In a sense we should all be rooting for most networks demise because they literally are the middleman and I don't get jack shit from the networks other than easy access to a bunch of offers. If you push any kind of real volume go straight to the advertiser.

Sick of all these shitty networks who act like its a privilege to work for them. Fuck that shit. How about actually providing something useful for your affiliates. What the hell separates you from the rest of the pack? If a network actually provided useful resources or actually hired AM's who know a thing or two about marketing then I would be proud to work for your network.

I gotta be honest here almost every single network sucks ass and provides nothing for their affiliates. The only one who comes close that i've seen is EWA and thats because they do a lot of mailing about whats hot and throw in some guides that give you ideas. Fuck all you other networks who hire idiots who have no knowledge of this business that push offers in your face all day and call it working.

So what has your affiliate network done to earn an extra 20% off your paycheck?

Sure we do something, bro. We pump the blood, sweat and tears of affiliates through the faucet-o-cash, then stack the paper and fuck the bitches, laughing to ourselves as we chant "exxxxcelllent" over and over again.

Seriously though, there's a shit-ton of stuff that goes on behind the scenes in a network that allows affiliates to run their businesses smoothly and profitably. Stuff most affiliates have no clue about, and those that do know, have no desire to deal with.

Funny enough, I know of many affiliates who thought networks did dick and figured they'd jump on the supposed money-train. Our industry is now littered with their failed networks.

But I suppose my opinion is biased, having run a network for 7 years now.

Have you been paid by EWA on time lately?
They supposed to pay weekly net4 or 5(used to be net3) but they have been paying me weekly net 11 or 12.
I have not yet paid last week payment, I will probably get paid sometime next week.
I asked my am about it but he told me to send email to savy.
That was 8/28 and I have not received any email from him yet.
I am not too happy with their support, it usually take few days to get answers even from my own am.
Is this something to do with Azoogle situation?

Same situation here, EWA has been paying me Net11/12 for about 2 months, but still no delay, no shaving.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

All of these are HOPEFULLY:

1) pay me MUCH faster than advertiser would;
2) pay me if advertiser didn't;
3) tell me their hottest offers;
4) get me new offers from advertisers quickly when I don't have time nor desire to establish a new direct relationship;
5) give me good ideas and strategies (which still require hard work on my part of course but point me in the right direction)
6) did I miss anything?

O really? There's some secret buttload of work that networks do that we just don't know about? LOL. Come on, everyone by now knows what a network does:

1. bizdev (to get advs) (1 good sales guy)
2. pub operations (acquire new and molest existing pubs to run traffic) (1 manager + 3 bimbos (male or female) fresh out of college, can even use interns)
3. accounting/collections (takes 1 $45K/year boring person)
4. operations (add/remove/modify offers + minimal technical stuff) (1 person who will be made to do other functions as well)
5. creative dept (1 guy but most don't even have it and just use creatives from adv)

Did I miss some huge secret amount of work?

No offense intented, but until you know what goes on inside a network, you have no clue what's required to run a successful network. While you certainly have some of the basics covered, you are missing others. And you are certainly underestimating the amount of effort required in each aread.

Unless, of course, you are thinking of CPAGoat. I'm sure they can make do with 1 or 2 people. But you'll never see them around in a year or two.

1) Not always.
2) not always, and today advertiser just do not pay network in advance or shave from their end, so he do not pay from the start if he is fishy, you don't get that network protection
3) LOL, like offers which needs more sales now, doesn't mean they will be hot for you/your traffic
4) Ok
5) Only few of them, and just basics thoughts which you can get from your AM if he is decent, 90% are not. blogs + paid memberships + free one + networking with others + (most important) your brain still bigger

But network can still give you higher payouts for some offers from start cause of their overall volume! Sometimes it's happens.

Well, if Networks are paying me weeklies with prepay from advertisers, then it makes some sense. But i can tell you that 95% of networks will not pay you a dime if the advertiser doesn't pay them. Only a few networks have paid affs even if advertisers fucked them over, like c2m etc.

Jetto nailed it when it comes to brokered networks becoz all they do is upload creatives from other networks in their system. Piss u off on AIM or send ballin emails to send some traffic so that they can make than extra 20%.
