Just out of curiosity, how much did you end up making overall on this one campaign? You posted your Copeac stats showing about $500 ... was that for the entire month and half you had this campaign going, or ?

SeoDave,

How do you make sure that your page won't get nailed with $1+ keyword bids at the very beginning of the campaign when using adwords? You example page looks like very little content, just curious about how you got cheap clicks for so long.

Thanks,
Grant

I was also wondering how you kept from getting hit with $1 bids with such little content on your LP.

Weeeeeell,
I haven't hid anything (including the landing page). I got low CPC's because of:
A) Lack of competition
B) Using keywords in the domain, meta, and landing page

I think it's mostly A that kept the bids low for so long. As soon as several other advertisers hit my niche in Adwords the bids went up. I kept 5c bids in MSN Adcenter and 10c bids in Yahoo Search Marketing for the whole campaign though... Don't think only Adwords people - there are other PPC engines out there.

For the record, this is the type of shit wf is legendary for, thanks all I got a lot of ideas off this thread.

I said I promoted 3 offers so here they are:
Foot Locker Gift Card ^ Email Submit: $88.00
Generous Genie - iPhone ^ Zip Submit: $52.70
Visa Gift Card for Best Buy - $500 ^ Zip Submit: $516.00

Total: $656.70

A+ thread. Not only does the man give an indepth tutorial, but he gives his campaign information away.. WOW

Thanks for posting this! Great info.
I just set one up and as of right now, I am just about breaking even -- spent $2.34 and made $2.40. Gonna keep this going to see if I can make a decent profit.

lol, this like those commercials. SeoDave probably feels like he has a badger on his back..

I'm motivated.... thing is I'm trying to add a email collection into the mix, and its proving to be a nightmare lol.
Several ways to do it... maybe have an extra page in the process before the voting page or... on the voting page.... hmmmm.

Not sure how well that would work. I'm sure they would enter their email in once, but probably not twice. Maybe, who knows. Try it.

Ive been looking for a script, service or software that will create a poll and send them to the url of my choice with the results of the voting. There I would list the Free email submit offers.

Is Easy Poll Creator what I need or does someone have a script I could use?

Any help?

I made the decision to try to the same thing. Learned alot. So I had a pretty good success rate with the CTR from search engines, something like 50% or so. I had no luck getting them to convert over for the offer. The percentage dropped pretty far pretty fast. About 4% average, not high enough to sustain.

I attributed it to a couple of things -

1) Wrong Offer (Testing/Experiment)
2) Too obvious the offer was on another page (I sacrificed quality for time)
3) Poll topic was a bit too targetted to have mass appeal.

It's a good concept, thanks SEODAVE, it's posts likes his that are the reason that I keep coming back.

I can see with some minor modifcations and different targetting how this would be successful, so thanks again for providing the "a-ha" moment. Also - generated my first offer money from AFF - thanks.

As far as polling scripts go, I've got some ideas on this to try out. Will be back with the results after trying the next one . . .

thanks for the good thread SeoDave, did you use the content network on only search network?
+rep for explaining everything you did ;)

I wish you wouldnt have posted this one, but hopefully people dont get it to work and go ahead and forget about it, otherwise i could be in trouble.

In Adwords I used content+search. Originally I got most of my traffic from search. Towards the end of the campaign I got a good bit from content network as well.

You have a 2nd Google Adwords account...

Are you clearing cookies when you login back and forth between accounts?

If GOOG finds out you have 2 or more Adwords account, regardless whether you are running campaigns or not, you could get shut down... permanently.

How are you avoiding this?
I know a few people with > 30 adwords accounts :anon.sml:
