You got in great yesterday, up today as well but I would be careful at this point if I was you. Looks like last week's resistance is this week's support. I would be booking the profits on those puts today/right now. Just got through the descending resistance.

Edit: High of the day might be broken very soon right now, good chance of seeing Apple run once that happens.

WAIT

You're telling me Samsung infringed when instead it's equally plausible that Apple design was shaping consumer demand, resulting in Samsung designing what consumers wanted?

If you know ANYTHING about the whole smartphone game, you know consumers go nuts on Apple design. That's what consumers want. There ain't nothin' wrong in giving consumers what they want.

If you look at that graph, theres 3 years between Samsung and Apple's design. In those 3 years, the iPhone defined the market. They set records and set the standard for what a phone should be, and what acceptable phone design is.

Samsung didn't do nothing.

Hey...Samsung's new stores are looking fairly familiar..

This is interesting, looks like Samsung CEO spoke out yesterday:

I think Samsung has a huge advantage over Apple going forward. Even if you give Apple credit for suing them which will be appealed and go on for awhile, in the end Samsung has alot of pieces to put out tons of products using Android and Windows. The product cycles will be so much faster than the iphone/ipad that Apple struggle like it did before when Windows consumed the marketshare for the desktop.

The Samsung S3 is pretty slick and with all these new laptops they will flood the marketplace with design ideas. It's not over for Apple but like I've read other comments "if your business has to rely upon patents to be a successful business your in trouble". Not that this is entirely true for Apple IMO but it's not good business period.

Oh, Samsung is coming out with a nice new laptop!

I just read about this.

I'm looking forward to Windows 8/Surface. I like the idea of a tab/workstation hybrid. Once I see the specs/price points I may consider this over the Surface.

I get your point.

But look at every desktop and laptop produced over the last 10 years. You can take any two laptops from any OEM's and they'll look almost identical from 3 feet away.

My take on this case is that Samsung probably crossed some lines, I think Apple takes things too far, but really I don't know enough about IP patent law to have a strong opinion one way or the other.

I own an Iphone and I like a lot of the new Samsung phone's better, I'll probably pick up the next Note when it comes out.

I've owned Ipad's and I like my Galaxy Tab 2 better. It's just way less restrictive and I personally prefer it.

From a consumer point of view, I like to see innovation and competition. More variety, more options, more competitive pricing.
