Samsung owes Apple a cool 1 billion

I gotta say, I find the idea that civil cases are decided by juries in the US to be ridiculous.

Given that juries are made up of people who weren't smart enough to avoid jury duty, how the fuck can they give a competent verdict in an Intellectual Property case?

It has very little to do with marketing

It has everything to do with marketing. That's why they spend so much money on product placement - notice how every computer used in every movie and TV show is an Apple?

I'll give them props for design innovations and all that, but the only reason they can overcharge the way they do is because of all the faggot ass fanbois that want Apple products because they saw their mindless celebrity idols using them on teh TV. Because of that, their profit per unit is very high which makes the company strong. It's smart, and I ain't hating but it is what it is.

Take a look at this:

^^^^ this says everything, what else needed?

Except Samsung probably not gonna be able to sell its stuff in the US anymore because of these lawsuits, which will still be available to the rest of the world.

Another perspective: Apple 1 - Consumers 0

Patent law is a tricky game, and Apple is a master at playing it. Lots of companies in this space willingly skirt the line, knowing they're exposed to potential suits down the road. Samsung was more brazen than most, and "tripped the line."

So you're saying that all you have to do is make a phone and buy some movie/tv show placements to become a success?

Maybe I'm just a faggot ass fanboi because I love OSX because it saves me a ton of time and makes my workflow much easier. Besides that iMacs, Macbooks and all the other Apple crap is sexy as hell with all that aluminium glass shit... I find it easy to masturbate to.

I still don't get it why Apple polarizes so much. Seems like ppl love or either fucking hate Apple. Notsureifserious.gif.

People love apple cause it's awesome. People hate apple cause they don't have it and they need a reason to make them selves feel good about a lower quality computer.

No, what I said is the only way you can overcharge (<---see I underlined it again!) your customers is by attaching an emotional component to a product. If I can buy a PC and slap Linux Mint on it for 1/3rd the price and it does everything the Apple does, then in order to get me to pay 3x as much for an Apple there has to be marketing involved.

I have an iPod so it's not like I'm saying Apple products suck, I'm just saying they're generally overpriced. Then again, some people would gladly pay $300 for a pair of $40 jeans if you switch labels. That's just the way people work and that's why I love marketing.

Big ups to Apple for tricking people into overpaying for shit - I got mad respect for them. I just think their fanbois are silly for buying into the marketing. People think Apple products are sexy and that's funny because products are not sexy - they are supposed to serve a purpose not get your dick hard. That's why people laugh at you guys and call you names.

I have a Macbook Pro. I think it is severely overhyped and many features of it I find counter-intuitive. I do enjoy my iPod, though. It's pretty dependable. iTunes, however, fucking sucks.

They need to revamp the patent laws on software.

You don't see Ford suing GM or Toyota because they have the same steering wheel or any other design parts.

Can it run Photoshop, World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2, Diablo, etc without nasty hacks like WINE?
