Real Money Making Shit Happening at Wicked Fire

Thanks peeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I just want to open everyones eyes to other possibilities besides doing it all alone and the fact that there is a huge talent pool of people her at Wicked Fire.

People that are struggling can put their minds together with someone on the forum and make a success at this when if they did it alone, they would fail and quit.

Maybe we should make a new section for these types of things.. but I would like to see how this one pans out before we go and recommend people to get together and start something up.

Yes, the devil is in the details man.

I know that from experience also and I will take your advice and make neccassary changes to make this work.

The tasks part is great advice because like you mentioned people are going to think, I'm doing more, I should get more etc. Plus distrust is a major factor of partnerships breaking up or not even forming. A more detailed contract will prevent future BS on money and work. Yes, envy, jealousy etc also come in to play.

I think like you said it's a pain in the ass to be all fucken detailed and cover every base but it will pay off with less headaches later and less BS.

IRS, yes, don't fuck with them. I do have a corp but not a LLC. I'll look into another tax id and llc to keep this separate in every aspect from my independent ventures.

These issues Jon brought up are all the serious issues that come up eventually in any partnership. The more you deal with at first the better you are later.

Thanks Jon!

I hate to be the wet rag here.. but with ANY business agreement or partnership like this, you should get everything in writing/contract and signed. You should also have everything documented as far as positions and each person's tasks go, along with payout percentages, etc. I know it's a pain in the ass, but I can tell you from experience, and I'm sure others here can too, that getting this stuff sorted out BEFORE you start eliminates so many potential disagreements and distrust between partners. I'm not saying any of the guys you mentioned here would ever do anything bad, but just remember, a business partnership is still a big undertaking. What happens all too often is one guy will start thinking that he is doing more work than the others and therefor deserves a bigger payout piece of the pie. This is something you DO NOT want to happen anytime, as it can seriously hurt the business.

Also, a quick side note. Regardless of who is handling the cash or what, get yourself an LLC, and a brand new EIN with the IRS. You do not want to fuck with taxes and have everyone be confused. Remember too, taxes for businesses are paid per quarter, so make sure someone is on top of that at all times.

Just some friendly advice if you want to do things correctly from the start.

Jon and fellow WF members. I will not let you down and this wil not be another gay thread NOOb case study on posting in a million forums or make $3,000 k a month. This is the real fucken deal happening before you very eyes.

If we fail. You'll know. If it works, You can be fucken sure that my ass will let you all know.

Stay tuned for some good real life shit happening. Fuck, I've been kicking around making a video progress report for FREE on what we are doing with SEOMIKE.

Yeah, his ass is fishing right now in good ole Nebraska (those Cornhuskers?) with his family and he doesn't know I'm saying all this. Hope he don't come shove some corn in my ass?

Mike's a great guy and I met him here, so thanks Jon! I hope to share all the details of our journey and help other to take the risk and make it happen!

Maybe we should make a new section for these types of things.. but I would like to see how this one pans out before we go and recommend people to get together and start something up.

Moe, you really crack me up. You started with all these ghetto-ass posts about being in and out of the joint, and then you start talking about using "cherry" mortgage leads to pursue with your "team". I never know what you're up to, but I like it, keep it up.

And as for the partnership idea, I'd almost rather be involved in a deal with several people with one uber-trusted person in charge dealing out responsibilities and work based on the talent in the group. I get all these ideas, but I'm scared to share them since I always think somebody will just snag it and leave me in the dust. A co-op would allow for a lot of coagulation of ideas and talent, and like has been said previously, increase everyone's earnings.

If anybody gets that sort of deal together, hit me up, I'm a team guy and am sitting on ideas going stale.

For my first business, I had a partnership agreement with all the details spelled out perfectly. We ran that business for almost three years and then started *another* business. Since we had worked together so long and "really know each other" we didn't bother with the agreement this time.

Let's just say, I learned the hard way. Do yourself a favor and follow Jon's advice.

well fuck man I'm still ghetto and all. I'll never leave my roots holmes:yin-yang: I'm like hooker in Hollywood, you never know what your gonna get when you pull down the panties:repuke:

I like what your saying HLL. Coagulation and uber person. Fucken right on !

I like the idea for sure of having a team leader who organizes and is like the chief in charge.

I'm getting my Jewish Lawyer to draft somethin up based on what I got from Blonde and an old contract I had to cover as many bases as I can and I'll post it on here for critique.

Big risks = Big Rewards

Now I'm gonna go do some fucken beer bongs, smoke a big joint and do my old lady doggy style.

Ghetto Moe out!

did that too with a pot fram in the mountains. fucker took off with $50,000 0 of my cash. little did he know I had a GPS on his car:eek: . a trip to Florida with my homeboys cured that and i came back with 80,000 for my troubles.

I'll vouch for BYA's seriousness about this. He came to me for help with a legal partnership agreement, he knew I used one and he also knew my site is part of an LLC. That was one of the first things I did when I decided to make a business out of my site.

Don't let him fool you guys. He's got a good head on his shoulders. I think this will be interesting to watch.

Thanks Blonde. Will you marry me?:D Kidding.

Your one woman who knows what's up and its fucken hot. I study your site and if other peple want to learn from someone who is making money of fof a content site/forum then check hers out. It's as clean as they come! Trust me. Look at her posts too, always good stuff!

Now, to put a damper on my last post....I still believe great partnerships are a rarity. I really don't think it's as easy as a lot of people think it is and the percentages of failed partnerships back me up on this. Partnerships are hard. Very hard. It's a relationship that also involves money and work. All of those things together can create a great soup or a volcanic chili that's waiting to explode.

If anyone is considering one, I highly recommend dotting your i's and crossing your t's as Jon recommended. Think it through, get to know the person you're considering partnering with and make sure you'd trust them with your kidney (or your beer, or your weed, whatever you can relate to as being very important). If you can't....they aren't for you.

You've grown on me too. But no marrying, I've had enough of that to last me a lifetime. Once was more than enough!

Besides, for all you know I'm a 400 pound bald lady with a beard.

A beard, how sexy! Yes no marrying but hey we can shave eactother beards, drink wine and count money together!

Shit I have to get off my computer. 15 hours. Good night!

Each day stuff like this makes you think why WF is such a great place to hangout in.

Bookmarking the thread BYA, wishing you and everyone else involved in this a great success!

Cheers

Partnerships, usually start out looking good, then it goes sour. I hope you two work out your inevitable differences.

highlifelight's idea sounds interesting though. A group of people working toget..... oh wait, yeah, Jon? WTF happened to that.

LOL! I just found this thread, been out fishing with the family today. Had a ton of fun and some much needed family time together.

Anyhow, I think Moe is definitely approaching things the right way. I've always been leery of partnerships, so it's very rare for me to take one on. Luckily, I think our strengths and weaknesses compliment each others and from our interactions so far, I'm sure that this will be both profitable and fun for all parties involved.

No sweat on the contracts (partnership stuff, NDA, non-competes), we're getting all that drawn up, so that we know what to expect from the beginning.

Another reason why I'm normally leery about partnerships, is one guy doing all the work. In past deals, I was that guy, and it got real fuckin' old real fast. Why would you want to split your money with someone that just sits on their ass? You don't. Again, that's another good reason for the contracts. Also, in this case, I'm not getting that vibe from Moe. I think what will end up happening is we'll both just keep pushing and pushing and making things happen. At least, I hope that what will go down, and as of now, I have no reason to doubt it.

We'll keep you involved in what happens (to an extent ;) ) No worries!

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update.

  1. SEO Mike and I spoke for and hour at 6am PST about strategies and bounced ideas. Good talk, lots of viable ideas and real money makers. Mike thinks there is huge potential to dominate a market and capitalize later. I agree 100%. He gave me his plan for the day and I gave him mine, so we don't over step toes and we know we are working in tandem for the best and quickest return on our output.
  2. We agreed to focus more on one or 2 content sites because per google trends it will double in traffic through summer into fall, so we need to get our asses alot of content, start building links, and getting ranked asap. We also plan to do some arbi with it while we try to rank
  3. Going to get some rocket themes $69 or so? for joomla magazine (you get a 40 pack with that), Some bad ass ones that are slick and seo friendly
  4. I'm gonna head over to istock photo and get $100 in credits for some nice related pictures for the site
  5. The rest of my day after that will be getting links form related sites. I already have 5 PR 4 or betters linking to me and it has been easy to get them so I'm positive here. Mike will submit to directories also.
  6. Mike is working design and transfering content that I already have to joomla and tweaking to make it look tight and nice but most importantly optimize for clicks on our ads:D
Thats about it for today and I'll make sure Mike come's and adds to it. I know this is fucken basic but I want noob's to see it all from start to finish and also the senior peeps here to see a partnership formed and worked from start to finish here at Wicked Fire.

You guys rock, I'm rooting for you both! I'm hoping your partnership is as good as mine is (and mine is great).
