My 6 Week Old Chocolate Lab Has Parvo Please Help...

my lab had parvo as a puppy, the breeder paid the vet bill directly without me asking. my dog's littermate had it too & died, but mine made it after a week with no food or water, just IVs. he's having a good nap under my desk right now, 8.5 years later. do what you can for the dog, it's worth it.

You dirty SOB. Always have to be better than everyone else!

Oh well, I can't afford to match you because I didn't make $20,000,000 on stock this week.

The sum is irrelevant, just the action of giving is great enough. If just a fraction of the active members on this forum gave something then we would have way more than the needed sum. Unfortunately a lot of folks here prefer to talk a big game and keep quiet in these sort of threads.

Right now that $300 can impact that dog's life a lot more than it can impact my own life. I would end up washing it down on something retarded tonight that would probably only harm my own health.

Thank you so much ly2 and mGrunin. I'm going to the vet to visit him in 45 mins i'll post a video of me visiting him along with a payment using my Paypal Debit Card from the money from you guys. I had $0 in the account before your payments. If anyone else could help it would mean the world.

What are you talking about, that's a quote from the OP's first post.

The title of this thread is My 6 Week Old Chocolate Lab Has Parvo Please Help.

Of course he's asking for money.
Yeah you're both right. I skimmed over that part. I saw the "please help" thing but was hoping he was just looking for advice. Imma dunce. Have a few likes as an apology.

I feel sorry for your dog, parvo sucks and I know plenty of people that have lost dogs to it.

Lessons for the future..not just for the OP but in general.

Don't buy from puppy farmers, go to a reputable breeder or as others have suggested rescue a dog, millions of dogs and cats are put down by shelters because they can't find enough new owners to keep up with all the assholes abandoning their pets.

Your property is probably infected now, don't bring any other dogs onto your property unless they are vaccinated. That shit can hang around for years.

Don't buy a pet unless you can afford these sort of vet bills, we have spent thousands on our pets in the last year, but we aren't any worse off for it, we make sacrifices so that we can give our pets the treatment they need. One of our dogs got bloat and had to be rushed to surgery, cost us over $3000 but we put it on the credit card and have since paid it off, one of our cats cost us about $2k in her last year before we ran out of options and had to put her down. We are by no means rich, 1 income with 2 kids and a small mortgage, we just know how to live cheaply when required so that we can cover these sort of emergencies.

I agree with many other posters in this thread that you wanted members here to feel sorry for you and give you money right from the start.

Lucky for you some kind hearted members have stepped up to bail you out, imo I hope you are thankful and if you ever actually reach the point where you are "W1NN1NG" for real, I really hope you do the right thing and either pay it back or pay it forward.

No shit. My dog had to go to the 24/7 emergency vet twice in two weeks and get two sets of stitches.

First, she ripped her chest open on a barb wire fence. Took her in, got her stitched up at like 2am. A week later, took her to get the stitches out, got home and played some fetch with her. Turns out there was an old tree stump in some tall grass and she slammed into it full speed while running after the ball. Tore her leg wide open, blood everywhere. Back to the 24/7 emergency to get stitched up again. Fucking $1200 on this stupid dog in two weeks which is part of the reason I could only give $100.

Just went to the vet and he is howling like a little wild bear cub. He has bloody diariah now and is white blood cell count is dropping meaning the worst past of it is coming. Please pray guys...

Let one of my dogs listen to that Youtube clip, and he got all worried and agitated, to the point he needed a hug to calm him down.

Alright, I'll throw $100 in. You'll have it within 24 hours.

You're not supposed to take young puppies to public areas because of the high risk of parvo until their second vaccination of it at like 6 months.

Also I'd have euthanized when I saw it was more than $500. They put 75 dogs to sleep each week in the rural ohio shelter I got my dogs from, on average 25 of them are puppies. They have drop boxes where people can pull up and throw the dogs in without getting out of the car.

I just donated as I said I would earlier, through your Give Forward page. Seems like you're pretty close to the $800 more you need for your initial vet bill by now. Good luck again.

Sounds like you purchased the dog from a puppy mill breeder. These fuckers are scumbags and a MAJOR reason there's so many dogs being killed each day. In fact, I saw on the news that puppy mill owners were dumping their dogs near freeways and train tracks in Texas so that they could avoid some new laws.

I feel really bad for your dog and will donate a little money (I donate daily to people who lost their dogs to piece of shit cops who kill pets for fun), but I hope people learn from this mistake. These backyard breeders and puppy mills are fucking scumbags and do not care about their dogs.

There's great dogs dying every day. People need to ADOPT. In your case, hopefully you saved a life in the end.

While I am a dog lover and have two of my own that I would be heartsick to lose, I'm not real overly sentimental about this kinda shit. When an animal is suffering, and believe me, a pup with parvo is hurtin, I would have to put it down.

Your situation was even more of a no-brainer. Got a refund? Coolio- return the goods and move on. Lotta dogs for sale, and all you're doing is burning cash and setting yourself and your wife up for an even bigger head trip when the pup kicks. Shoulda snapped this off clean.

And you other guys, pouring hondos into this shit like real ballers, I'm appalled. I mean we all love the kittehs and puppehs, but fuck. Invest your crusading energies where they will count, bros. Lotta hungry people and other good causes out there too.

PS: That Vet is ASSFUCKIN YOU HARD, "Winner".

UPDATE - My little bear cub made it through the night. He didn't have diarrhea or vomit at all overnight and he is very alert this morning and his temperature is normal. The vet is going to try some bland food this morning. Things are looking good!

i had a puppy with parvo and the rescue i adopted him from did nothing to help me. I sent him to emergency 24/7 care... sadly he died and the bills were about 3.5k

I waited a year and I now have another dog that is doing great. I hope he pulls through

Idiots (including my girlfriend) always get these awesome pets w/out realizing that soon they'll be mourning it. I love our Labrador but would have never fucking got it in the first place cause I hate when things I care about die. And a healthy dog has 10-15 yrs of life at most. So the question is how much money do you expect from others to support your thoughtless decision? Animals all around the world (and people for that matter) die every fucking second.. should we try to save them all? Best not to get attached to short-lived things if you actually have a heart in the first place. It's a hard lesson but it's a hard shitty world.
Sorry if I sound like an asshole I'm probably mostly just pissed that my own lab will be dead in 6 yrs or so most likely. But I guess most people just don't think about death until it's on their doorstep.

You're comments are beyond retarded. You truly are a sickening, heartless person.
