Today, while I was surfing Wickedfire Link/SEO to buy a few SEO packages for my monthly clients, I was shocked to see popular threads hitting the 3rd and the 4th page of Link/SEO section. It's really strange to see some of the most popular threads hitting the 4th page within just 24 hrs.. ? Shit... How will potential buyers ever come across these services without a Bump from the Seller himself? At times, the service providers even have to beg their buyers to leave a short review so that they can get a bump.

I am not sure how other Buyers or Service providers will react to this but it's my opinion whatever I have put up and I really look forward to hear what the moderators have to say. I just don't want WF to turn into another DP within a few months/weeks. :yin-yang:


I would suggest that the post count should be raised to min 300 posts or else a $10-$20 Fee to post a thread in the link/seo section (for those who have less than 300 posts in the forum).

Just my 2 cents... Will look forward egarly what the moderators have to say.

little charge would be great! like charge around $10 which is really affordable so that people who don't provide good service will avoid creating New threads! ..

Allow People to edit their thread (thread owner), so that they can simply use their old thread for similar service.
 
People usually run a mile when they have to pay for something which means the traffic might all go to another forum (although i'd be happy to pay if it improved the quality). Mods already tried to help by making tags for services which didn't seem to take off. How about seperate forums for different types of links?

comments
blogrolls
etc...
Or a new services forum for sellers with less than xx itrader. After so long providing the service with good reviews they could be promoted to the main links forum.
 
Although I am new here, I think that is a good idea. It will cut out all the spammy/scam service threads put up and it will also add more confidence to a buyer when he is buying the service.

I think you should pay $20.00 to submit the thread and also provide a free review to a Mod and that mod will leave a review in return. This will then enable other users to trust the OP who is selling.
 
Why don't we just do a post requirement? I'm not opposed to a fee or something, but the post requirement would solve it a lot faster & more efficiently.

I'd much rather see a thread from someone that's been forced to post 100 times (and not get banned by then) rather than pay $10 and still have a shitty offer from a person that doesn't understand how shit works. At least with the posting they'll be forced to find out what we're about ... or just get banned.

I think this is the perfect solution. Anyone serious about their business will have no problem paying a reasonable fee. People with crap service won't risk losing $20 bucks because they know they might not make it back. And I think post count is a given, there are people who come in and their FIRST post is a sales thread, it's ridiculous.

In SEO, much of the business transactions are faceless. It's WAAAAY TOO easy to rip guys off if you don't care about a long-lasting relationship with the community. Guys who post often, end up knowing the guys here, exchanging emails/skype/AIM/etc, and usually care about treating people in the community right and providing good services.

And it is VERY hard to get customers to give reviews after they have bought, I think many times they'd RATHER not have other SEOs buying the link packages that they just purchased (I know because that's how I am, LOL)...

I have given a bunch of Bonus High PR links to my customers and simply asked for a short review time and time again, and only like 1 person actually did it. They want to have their providers all to themselves, it sucks from a service provider side. But I'm guilty of it from the customer side, so I guess what goes around comes around LOL.

Anyway, to sum it up. There should be a charge and post minimum.

I don't think wickedfire has to be tough to newbies. Not all newbies are stupid. The mods / admins need to take the suggestions by service providers with a pinch of salt. The calls for greater restriction are fueled by increasing competition leading to lesser profits.

I'm a seller myself but don't forget that increasing restrictions in the BST will make it bad for buyers. BST can't be made tougher just to benefit the service providers. It has to be fair to the buyers too. More service providers = cheaper + better services = More money in buyers pockets.
 
I think the best ones will always reappear at the top, if they've gone about introducing their service to the forums in the right way - reviews for moderators, reading guidelines etc.

If a service is good enough, people will search through a few pages to find it, or have it bookmarked.

I bet a few of the best service providers started of with few posts. Wouldn't want to miss out on good services just because they haven't posted "this is great, thanks for these informations" in 200 threads.
 
Zingo is on holidays so a lot of shit that would usually be removed isn't be removing. He's said numerous times that WF has plans to deal with the BST section, this is the most logical place for monetization so I am sure we can expect something soonish to come along.

Does it suck? Yea, a little bit but there's not much that can be done. Zingo deserves a break and we should be grateful that he even deals with 1% of the bullshit that he does. More service providers need to kick it up to Zingo to make it worth his whiled. He already has free profile links for life as far as I am concerned.

I completely agree with you mate but as a Buyer when I tried to find a decent service, I found some shitty services on top. I got scammed a lot of times earlier and don't want to deal with any more people/service providers who have come from fiverr few days back.
 
Lot of good points in this thread, from both sides of the counter. Ultimately, the cream will rise and the sewage flushes. Sucks when people get burned by scammers in the process, but again, it's the internet. Caveat emptor. Due your due diligence. Quality reviews by people who know what they're talking about or paid upon completion to my satisfaction in the absence of such reviews are my standards for new services/providers. The legit ones with confidence in their ability to deliver what they're advertising are happy to comply, you never hear back from the scammers. Good bullshit detection system IMO.
