Win7 + Ubuntu dual boot. (I use Ubuntu 90% of the time). If I need Win7 open during development (like heavy Photoshop use), I'll even just virtualize it on my home server.

I also started using Ubuntu Server over CentOS on my newest web servers. The Ubuntu Desktop --> Ubuntu Server interfacing (they're almost the same thing) makes things even easier.

I encourage anyone that uses Linux servers (almost all of you) to try Ubuntu. You can even install it to run as an application layer within Windows. Being a little more familiar with Linux (espeically the command line) goes a long way. But most of all, never stop learning new things. I picked up Linux as a desktop OS this summer after my netbook got shut down by malware. Heard that Ubuntu could boot from USB without even installing. Could access the Win XP partition and save all my files. Been using Ubuntu ever since.

I used windows since 3.1, never liked Macs, and didn't wanna turn into a Steve Jobs zombie-follower. Then my Dell died, and I had to get a computer on very short notice. The only store still open was the Apple store, 5min before closing. Ran in and got me a Macbook Pro...

Anyway, I have a dual-boot for Windows, but haven't used Windows in at least 3 months.

OSX is stable, all the menus are the same for all programs, installation of files is a breeze, it just works...and looks good too. Also, battery life on the Macbook Pro is awesome compared to most other laptops. But you're paying a premium for branding of course...

I own both and use both. I'm happier with PC. The Mac tries to think for you and hide all the details. If you don't know computers that can be a good thing. If you know computers it is much easier making a PC do what you want it to -- not what Apple thinks you should do.

x2 much happier with PC

Been a PC user for life. I don't see myself changing that either.

I remember when these threads would come up some people would say Mac for music/art/basically any creative program...What a bunch of shit. I have used many music programs on my PC, Photoshop, and not to mention you can actually play games if you wanted. Oh, and internet marketing tools. Plus Win 7 is the shit.

Started on macs, switched to pc. Macs are overpriced and if you use due diligence with Windows you can get a sleek environment. I like linux, but I don't have the time for the overt amount of bullshit to get shit to work properly.

I love my macs. The only thing I dont like about them is the fact that most internet marketing tools are pc only, but nothing a little crossover, or windows boot wont fix.

One of the biggest things I hate about PCs are that they create so much heat. The room I'm in rises temperature at least 10 degrees when I turn my computer on. iMacs and MacBook Pros keep the room the same temperature, which is really nice for me, since I hate when it's hot in here. Other than that it comes down to personal preference to be honest. I personally prefer Macs and don't mind paying a little extra for an Apple made computer.

Windows 7 and OS X each have their advantages too. For one, no Coda on windows = Fail. You don't get much better than Coda, especially for that price. But most marketing tools are developed for windows.

Full tower
6 core AMD 3.2Ghz
16GB DDR3
2 x SSD + 2 serials
2 x 5850's 1GB each DDR5
1000w Power
2 new 28" LCD's + my old 28" LCD that I had

All for $1,600 give or take. I'd love to see the bill for a similarly powered mac, shit would be fucking ridiculous.

Stupid question. You mean Mac OS or Windows, because you can put any damn OS you wish on a 'pc' or a 'mac'. At any rate, neither: Linux + Gnome = bliss
