LPLockdown - If You Like Giving Your Pages Away

But at the same time, why would a fortune 500 IP be hitting WF of all places? ( with the exception of something like google/yahoo/msn type companies ). The only people coming here are looking for affiliate marketing type info.. or possible skittles thread.

The point I'm making is I could have logged into WF from intranet.exxonmobil.com from an IP address in Irving, TX and then read a post on Cakes' blog right after that. You know how many possible fatties that work in accounting that could potentially weed out?

Like I said, that algo better rock.

For sure I do, you would have created a false positive in his cloaking system if anything.

With any cloaking system you will get false positives for sure, sometimes you have to weed out 10% of valid traffic, to make sure you block out 95% of the traffic you want to cloak if you really hiding something.

But yeah, I follow what you mean.. Im just suggesting how it might work/not work is all

algo could also once verify that an IP might be an affiliate by seeing it in 2 different places, now see if that IP ever shows up again in the system.

so if an IP visits WF and then cakes chat, that a confirmed possible affiliate... but it might require catching that IP again later on ( say in 30 days ) at WF or his blog again to double confirm that it could be a real affiliate.

nothing is fool proof for sure.. but this could help weed out a lot of shit.

shit my brain hurts now.

1. Become a mod at WickedFire.
2. Scrape everything you can, using your special powers.
3. Combine everything in a nice package, and sell it to the same people you scraped the data from.
4. PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, it is a non sequitur. It doesn't make any sense. Jon's brand takes a hit from this. People are less likely to feel comfortable being on a forum where their data is being scraped by a mod. I'd be interested to hear what Jon thinks about this.

lol it wasnt jon.

nicky somehow deserves getting his service talked to shit. dude was walking around at asw, interrupting people's business conversations to take pictures for his blog... PFFT that is the real anti social shit nicky should get called out for.

Again, that IP shit is pretty easy. Include it on blogs, sigs and everywhere else where you can insert a pixel and ur good. i dont understand why everyone is making drama off that. you cant expect your IP to stay "secret" when browsing online.

Im sure part of the algo might contain something that checks an IP at one forum and seeing if it logs into another forum/blog/chat area. That could help weed out single IP usage or mishaps. However, it wouldnt weed out things like GoogleBot or spiders, unless you reverse whois them and weed them out that way or have a list of already known spider bot IPs and deduct them out.
From what I could tell, the tracking pixel was only used at WF and Nickycakes.com not any other forums. If one tried to do this at DP, they would know that DP doesn't allow sig images.

@Nicky, the right thing to do is to give up your mod title. It is an enormous conflict of interest with your new business. You are claiming to protect clients from WF members while having privileged access to WF member data.

Creating a product like this, as an affiliate who is capable of finding any type of solid success in this industry, screams desperate. Just like Justin Dupre's affiliate store.... and kinda like FB Ad Manager. Nothing against any of these guys.. but there's a lot of money out there to be made off of your own "useful" tools and advice. Anyone making money from their own custom developed systems right now (there's sooo many on here) is not hugely open to sharing it with everyone in the industry (even if they made it a rebill)... it just would not benefit them in any way unless they were a network or desperate for some cash.

This industry is so small, most people know the real from fake. At least these super affiliate bloggers provide us with entertainment.

Is collecting member data on WF, OK as long as your "sneaky" about it? Is this the general consensious among management and mods?

I'm sure most people don't have a serious problem with people collecting IP data like cakes did for their own purposes.

Profiting from the sharing of it is a totally different story!

On a similar note, stop posting nonsense. You're extremely fucking annoying.

On another similar note:

NickyCakes = Dullspace/Circa/Sumit?

Edward Norton = Tyler Durden?

Dullspace + Circa + Sumit / Nickycakes = Viking?

Brad Pitt = Edward Norton?

LPLockdown = Fail? I'm in no place to judge that, but as above so below, nobody who has purchased the plugin has complained (yet).

But as I have noticed: "Confessions of a Reformed Blackhat (Sort Of)".

200 posts? Wunderbar.

I have mixed feelings on this. I was someone that always believed, People that do, do.. and those that can't do, teach. This is similar to what your saying above.

However, I am a successful affiliate and I make profit everyday on my campaigns. That doesnt stop me from thinking about building a tool or service and selling it other affiliates though, for various reasons such as diversifying my income. Hell I even thought about starting a blog just to get referrals and sell my tools/services to help spread out risk with my affiliate income. Doesn't mean I am having hard times with affiliate campaigns though.

You should see how much money is made from people like Amish ( GAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAY ), WF review plugin, and other tools/products being sold out there today.

WTF, i didnt write the GAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAYGAY in there.. something on WF did that.. I was trying to say magic-bullet

Im not for or against Nicky on this..

But at the end of the day it's all about how you stack your paper and whats in your bankroll. I knew Acai and colon wasnt helping anyone for real.. same with those biz ops and teeth products, but I dont mind cause it makes money.

Sometimes you do what you gotta do to make money. If you feel Nicky is stealing from you ( IP wise or LP wise ) then you got to make the choice of not using his service and not visiting this forum until something changes.

At the same time, dont be thinking your better if you ever pushed a rebill in your life and thought that shit actually helped someone.
