Macs are a huge fucking waste of money, anyone who thinks otherwise have become victims of Apple's marketing (really? we're on a marketing forum) and all these little faggots running around bragging about their cute toys.

I knew OP was red before I even came in here.

Mac is 10x better in my opinion.

Get a Mac Pro with 24GB of RAM, 4 monitors, and you can use a virtual windows on the mac.
That is if you have the money.

lmao you've gotta be trolling, for the cost of a Mac with 24gb of ram you could build 2 by yourself for the same price same specs and install OSX yourself

Am I the only one who has always thought OS X was too cartoon-y and looked like it was made for a child? I can't take that shit seriously at all.

so uh, what is windows 7 then? they keep ripping off Apple's interface design after all.

a Mac Pro with those crazy specs will easily be comparable to any workstation PC with equivalent specs. You're dealing in professional level computers at this point, not some gamer PC with a shitsock dispenser for WoW players. On top of that, you won't be able to get equivalent performance on one task from those two computers on your standard Windows install, since it's not meant for distributed computing. Guess what, you'd need some form of UNIX meant for cluster computing, as well as a fibre channel card in each for those two PCs to share tasks.

That is +1.

Exactly

If you've never had hands on experience with an apple Laptop/desktop or a Mac Pro with 12+GB of Ram, you will truly never know the power.

I'm not a gamer and even if I wanted to play a game, I can dedicate 4gb ram to play it.

Btw, saving to upgrade my set up to a Mac Pro with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 3.6 GHz

I've never understood this. I mean XP, blue, green and cartoony. Vista/7, even more animated and cartoony. OSX is grey, monochrome and minimalist?

Besides a mac is easier, more intuitive and requires less fixes, tweaks and internet searches for the various problems. It is so easy a retard or child could use it. (Like most Windows lovers say.) And you know what? I crave the days computing was more complicated and everything took longer. Stuff being easy sucks... I only wish OSX could become full of bloat, toolbars, and alerts. :D

And to add something else to this great, and often repeated, argument, I find it funny how people, other than Mac users, can truly get involved in these debates, because for the most part most Windows fans have never actually used a Mac long enough to know what they're doing, where as most Mac users know Windows quite well an might have even come from windows.

Anyone whose argument against Macs is based on one of the following loses from the beginning

1) Macs cost more
2) Macs are just marketing
3) Macs are simple and therefore only suitable to retards

There are real reasons why someone should use Windows or Linux over a Mac. And there is personal preference which is totally legitimate as well. But these above arguments are imho based on total bullshit. Because

1) Per hour of computing, we are talking literally about a difference of price in pennies. Is there anything people (especially professionals) use more than their computers? Should we all drive fucking KIAs because they are cheapest? Cheaper != better.

2) Because Apple has mastered marketing, that has nothing to do with the actual product.

3) If simple meant can't do shit then this would be valid. But simple for macs just means they make actual sense. A bunch of bloatware does not make sense. Having to install printer drivers for current printers when a mac can detect and autoconfigure the same printer over bonjour does not make sense (case in point, my new hp all in one wireless printer).

Out of the box, a Mac can do way more than a Windows machine. Its Unix. It has Apache built in, as well as ruby on rails, ssh, and vi, and grep, and a thousand other things I don't feel like naming Saying it sucks because its simple means to me it sucks because you don't know what to do with it.

Good god man, how in the fuck can you use 32GB of RAM? My W7 PC still has 2gb of ram and I run dreamweaver\photoshop\skype\chrome\IE\firefox\zune\live messenger\utorrent\live mail while watching movies on my 2nd monitor with VLC and I've never had a problem with not having enough ram.

You people have to admit, nobody makes a quality laptop like Apple. Somebody show me another laptop made totally from aluminium? the Dell Adamo was a contender but they've discontinued it. While I like Apple hardware, I'm no fan of OSX.

All I see is some broke ass pc users in here. Most of us here run our lives and businesses on our computers. You dont have 3k to spend you need to get back fucking work.

I also LOL at people who claim "Macs are nothing but overpriced overhyped marketing!", and then they also want a BMW.

I never said Windows didn't look like shit, just that OS X looks like it was actually made for a kid. I don't think it's minimalist at all. The difference is I've never used the default Windows theme, so I start to forget what it looks like. I've never seen someone with a Mac that wasn't running the default theme. I don't even know how hard/easy it is to change. In the end, I don't give a shit what anyone uses. It doesn't affect my life in the least.
