How much do you sleep?



probably 6 hours or less on average. wish i could get more but i always wake up too early. would feel much fresher with 7+ hours a night.
 
I try to get 8 hours, if you don't get good sleep you end up dying early meaning you die at a younger age then someone who gets good sleep who ends up living longer.
 
The true question is how much time does it take you to fall asleep once you lay down?

If you say you sleep 8 hours but it takes you 2 hours to fall asleep, you're sleeping 6 hours. I know some people that fall asleep less than 30 seconds after putting their head on the pillow (Lucky fuckers!). It takes me like 1-2 hours, that's why I tend to sleep longer to cover for the "brain can't stop thinking" time...
 
8h minimum, however..maybe 6-7 of this normally is sleeping
having trouble falling to sleep and wake up way before I should and end up in insomnia
rem is rare for me as well :(
 
I sleep 4-5 hours per day. And I wake up energized. The secret is Paleo diet (and not eating wheat/grain).
 
6-7 hours, with a 20 min nap in the afternoon, if I feel too tired. If you sleep more than 20 mins you enter a deeper sleep, which makes you feel groggy when you wake. a 20 min nap is great, feel so much better.

Sometimes I find myself going to bed later and later, so I find a night of beers and getting in to bed at 12am a great way to reset my clocks.
 
For those saying too little sleep is bad, check out the UK's former PM, margaret thatcher. She sleeps for 4-5 hours a day only... and still going at 85 years old :)
 
the key is to sleep little, like 4 to 6 hours per night, but take a nap in the afternoon. at least that's what works for me now.

That's exactly what I try to do. (with emphasis on the "try")...
I noticed that when I used to sleep more, my sleep nights were a bit unstable. I used to wake several times. When I reduced it to 4-5 hours, I don't wake in the middle of the night anymore. I sleep deeper.

Here's what's funny!!! If one night I get to sleep 6-7 hours, I wake up as tired as if I had slept 2-3 hours. Does anybody feel the same?
 
^ I'll have to try sleeping 4-5 consistently. I always feel unrested when I do it for small periods of time.

In my bed at my dad's house, it takes me like an hour or more to get to sleep.

At my mum's house, I've got an electric blanket, and I generally go to sleep within 3 minutes.

I really recommend getting an electric blanket that can switch itself off after 70/90 minutes - turn it up on max and get in, the heat really helps.
