Good places to live as an internet marketer?

There are different ways to circumvent the law.

If you know any good ways, please PM me :)

However, when it comes to quality health care and top quality facilities like hospital, it would be best to live in a developed country. Here the rich ones (Filipinos) will go to the U.S. to get the best treatment for their disease like cancer or when they need surgery. They have greater chance to come home alive than going to our hospitals here.

Also, Singapore and Australia are both much closer than the US and probably much cheaper when it comes to healthcare.

Pattaya is an absolute cesspool. Seriously, it is the trashiest place in the whole country, maybe the whole world, on so many levels.

Yep. If you want to live in a place where you can't walk outside without hearing hookers yelling, "hey, sexy man!" every 30 seconds, then Pattaya is perfect for you. Gets very tiresome very quickly though. If you're stuck in downtown Toronto all year, maybe a good place to blow off some steam for a week, but definitely not to live.

Being a white person in Asia, you're practically treated as first-class citizen, better than locals.

Since you guys are coming down on him, I'll back Clyde up on this. If you're a white guy living in Asia, you are a special class of citizen. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up for debate, but you get treated differently. For example, legal age to goto a club is 20, and most clubs enforce this strictly. However, I can walk through the doors with any 18 or 19yo I want, and no chance they'll be IDd. I have white skin, so the Thai gets left alone.

Plus loads of other little examples like that. If you're a white guy, you get more leeway than the locals. On the flip side, you also have natural bullseye painted on your forehead, and will constantly go through your days beating assholes off like the vultures they are. No morals or ethics at all. You're white, I'm asian, I'm poor & lazy, you shit bricks of money (you must, because you're white!), so give me some! Fucken cockroaches.

What I thought was crazy was the Thai locals wearing hoodies in the middle of summer so they don't tan their skin. They believe the lighter the skin = more beauty + power

Some of the guys missed my point about being a second-class resident. What I meant is that *IF* you don't speak the local language and speak it WELL - you will be effectively a second-class resident because basically your life will be quite limited due to that handicap. Not because locals treat Westerners good or bad - but simply because you will live with a "language disability."

It's fucking nuts. Basically, all non-white races are the biggest white supremacists! Doesn't matter if you take Latinos or Asians or anyone else. They even grade themselves according to the degree of lightness of their skin! When I first read about it, it was unbelievable. But then I encountered exactly that in practice in the Carribean and it's pretty insane.

With your request about sending you pm about good ways, I will;)

I agree with you regarding Singapore and Australia. Health is wealth and we have only 1 life not like the cats 9 lives.:)

I confirm this for MY and SG as well. If you were born dark-skinned you're shit out of luck because most MNC's prefer light-skinned employees.

There's a reason Indians put a thick layer of white powder (perfume kind) on their face here. It's really funny but I think they subconsciously want to appear "white".

That's simply because having dark skin means you work outside all day, and are probably just a poor rice farmer who makes $6/day. If you have light skin, that's a sign of being a successful white collar professional. It has nothing to do with people wanting to be white. It's to show people you sit around in a comfortable, air conditioned office all day making loads of money, while other are slaving away in the rice fields.

And it definitely makes a difference. If you're a Thai and goto Bangkok, you'll get treated quite differently depending on whether you have light or dark skin.

It's not a tan. The Thais of the northeast and the deep south are born dark. My housekeeper who is from Isaan is a good example. She had a baby that was blacker than a lot of black people - nothing to do with sunshine.

The preference for light skin is based on the stereotype that dark people are from a lower economic class and poorly educated. In Thailand that stereotype was very accurate in the past, not as much these days but it is still a large part of how people are initially judged. If you observe skin color together with how they talk you immediately know what region they are from. Add in their behavior and style of dress and it in most cases you can fit them to a pretty accurate profile.

That's what makes it so humorous to see western guys trot out their "girlfriends" who are obviously bar girls (hookers) trying to pass them off as regular girls. Every Thai person knows it immediately and expats who have been in the country a while can see it, too.

As for lighter skin being more beautiful, that's all personal preference of course. The Thais like fair skin and the women the Thais think are the most beautiful are spectacular, in my not so humble opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of dark skinned Thai women who are hot but they just don't get the exposure so you don't see them on TV or in the mags. Then again, maybe there aren't that many, 'cuz most don't have the other preferred features like being tall, slender, refined facial features, a hypnotizing lilt in their voice...ok I'm losing it. And guys, those dark short Isaan girls in the beer bars with their crass grating speech are not hot. They are among the least attractive of all the women in Thailand, in my not so humble opinion.

It's not a tan.

Yes it is, or at least that's what they're worried about. Tell a rice farmer to wear a watch 24x7 for a week while he's working the fields. After a week, ask him to take the watch off, and it's very apparent he got darker. That's why when it's +38C out, they dress for -12C weather.

They don't want their skin to get darker than it already is, because that's a sign of a poor, uneducated farmer. I know it's very inconsequential, because they're still going to be bloody dark, but try telling them that.

Are you dead serious?

In thailand Phuket and Pattaya are pretty decent choices if you can live with the smut and the tourists.

Pattaya beaches are OK to look at and hang on, but stay out of the water unless you like diaper fish. Alot of touts and hookers , but cheap and easy living if you keep it together. Lots of free puss if you got game, or just pay them to leave after.

Phuket has some great beaches. Internet speed and quality is a problem. Transportation is an issue, taxi mafia and roads suck, and possibly medical is a problem if you take a spill. Rock star lifestyle is doable there at a decent price though.

Smoking hot women and good infrastructure make Bangkok a great choice if you dont mind big dirty cities. Way cheaper than the top cities in the west. I blow out to beaches outside of Bkk for the weekend if needed, and Hua Hin and Koh Chang are pretty good:smokin:

Do you speak Thai? Well? If so, how long did it take you to learn it and did u enjoy the process?

For those of you in Thailand, or that have lived in Thailand previously. Where would you recommend living? I know that's a pretty generic question but I'm planning on moving there in a year or two for 6 mos - 1 year.

Ideally I'd like to have a beach town that isn't a complete tourist trap but still big enough to have stuff going on.

From what I've researched I've heard Pattaya may foot the bill and isn't a total clusterfuck like Phuket.

I'd like to know answers to this too?

Best place in the world to live as an internet marketer = mom's basement (as long as you are no younger than 30). Recipe for a true winner...
