Facebook Social Ads

How long does it take facebook to start displaying your ads after you've set the bids to 0 for like 6 hours I upped my bids to like 50 cents and no impressions for an hour (These ads are like 0.10 ctr) Someone told me never to pause the adgroups to just lower the bids and then put them higher again but that seems to do the same thing. This wouldent even be a problem if there was like a scheduler for ads.

An accurate scheduler where you can set adgroups or individual ads for certain times would save so many people time and increase conversions so much. It's probably my number one feature request right now, or at least accurate paushing/unpausing that doesent kill your ads so I can do it myself.

Agreed.

Fuck Me Sideways People

I'm honestly not sure if this shit is 100% coincidence or if its actually because of the post I made but its at the point where I gotta give a shout out to everyone.

If your doing dating ads on facebook please get more creative then "Want a Girlfriend", I used that shit as an example in my previous post and ever since then it seems like there has been a steady increase in dating ads on my personal account with that headline.

Then just now I was browsing through some of the ads and I shit you not at least 90% of the dating ads had the title "Want a Girlfriend". Its insane that is like the only title I'm seeing for dating ads, its everywhere for me.

Again not sure if its targeted to my account but I don't think it would be anyway if your only using that headline, please for the love of god get more creative I'm tired of seeing the exact same thing over and over 1 million times.

doubt its a coincidence

Aequitas- next time tell them to use "want a fat chick"....

You should check it out on the weekends and during the evening. It gets worse.

Just a couple quick questions. I've just started PPC with the $350 Facebook coupon that's been available around WF.

I am direct linking to offers and want to track how each offer is going (as I'm trying to split test different creatives). Should I be using Tracking 202? I've signed up to it, but I'm having some trouble figuring out how to track the performance of different creatives that have the same destination URL. Can anyone give a quick explanation of the best way to do this? It's probably an easy process to the vast majority of you guys out there, but I want to get the tracking process right the first time around before I start adding further ad campaigns.

Also just another quick question. Am I allowed to go to any of the ad networks I've signed up to, and run any offers, as long as they don't stipulate that I'm not allowed to use PPC or Facebook advertising? Is that correct? Is there any rules or regulations that I should look out for when picking certain campaigns? Are there rules governing the image I must chose for the FB ad?

I'm just in need of a little help and direction please. They're probably all noob questions, but bear with me haha.

Cheers.

You can use the subid field of your affiliate links to keep track of different things with the same URL, this is specific to your affiliate company so I can't tell you what the paramater name is going to be.

Yes you sign up and start promoting with the links they give you, read there TOS to get an idea of what they allow and don't allow, then read the following Advertising Guidelines | Facebook

Then try and fail and try again.

If your direct linking it is a must to use tracking202

Not unless your like me who has developed there own entire back end advertising system which tracks litterally everything you can think of right down to the hour, every click, every impression, every demographic, it even does multi-variate testing, and once it does that it then automatically calculates the data and creates the best ad combo for me to use, it gives me trends, everything (Not to brag too much about a software no one outside my inner circle has seen lol)

Can't wait until facebook gives me there Advertising API so I can really do some amazing things.

But if your unable to do something as crazy as what I did then yes definately tracking202 does seem to be an excellent resource to use.

So that's what I should expect I'm coming up against. People like Aequitas with automated software and multiple thousands to spend....ah wonderful! ;p

Anyway it's still happy times for me. Made my first monies online last night, through Facebook, so I'm quite =) :D

Also just another question. What's the best method to go about figuring out the ideal demographics to advertise to, before I actually start a campaign. Obviously in certain cases its easy to determine age groups, the gender and interests of those who would be more interested in a certain product, but is there any free software out there (this is where I hope Google's got software out) that shows statistics on the demographics of people who have particular interests in certain product niches?

Or is the only option to guess at the demographics I will target my ad at before I start an ad campaign and then use the facebook reports to see the actual demographics of those who click on my ad as they come in, and then split-test and/or tweak the ads from there?

And finally does anyone ever use CPM instead of CPC as their preferred way to be billed? And if you do use CPM sometimes, what type of offers would you be looking at using for CPM?

Its possible to do it without the help of software, the software just makes things much easier and quicker to do when dealing with large number of ads, campaigns, stats, ect... Gets hard to keep track of all that shit by hand after awhile.

As for demographics you can use things like Quantcast but I wouldn't put all your weight on it, you can use sites like that as a guide and then split-test like a bastard to break it down even more.

As for CPM, I've got no clue I stick with CPC.

Don't get scared by what anyone else has in house. No matter if you have the best tracking shit out you still need to know how create a profitable campaign. A lot of people get by without any of that extra shit just use free off the shelf software.

As for CPC vs CPM, it's better to stick with CPC unless you get really high CTR's, in which case i've found using CPM is cheaper..
