wow, I don't know where to begin.
I am sad to say that I'm also an x-azoogler, and I was one of the 16 that was let go last Friday. A few things popped through my mind, and when reading these posts, I figured I should give my 2 cents.
First off, thought I noticed that something was happening, I didn't really see myself being terminated. Azoogle's focus is towards NY, and anything that wasn't Tech or Finance related is going to NY. Smart, since Adtech is in NY.
Was it a good idea to get rid of some of Azoogle's employee's at the beginning of Q4? I don't know. There are a lot of green employees in NY, and a lot of them are going to take a month (if not months) to fully understand the network. It would have been in their best interest to ensure that some of the xazooglers made their transistion as painless as possible.... (oh well, cest la vie, crash n burn). I would think for the next couple of weeks, the Affiliate Management Team and Sales Teams are going to be a mess, with the launch of 2.0, and with all the changes.
For those affiliates who think that Azoogle is going to downhill, no chance. If anything it shows that Azoogle has more money than they can handle. Why would you hire someone new in NY for a lot more money and less education (seriously, talk with some of these guys over the phone or through email, and you would really think that your talking with someone who dropped out of high school). Compare this to someone in Toronto, who costs a lot less and has a University Degree (well atleast I had a couple)?
If your still worried, don't forget Azoogle is expanding. They are expanding their NY office (if not already).
All is good in Azoogle.
Am I bitter? Not really, just peeved that I was replaced by someone who is slower than molasses (*karma*). I would have liked to have seen the NY Office and I would have loved to be there when Azoogle hit an amazing Q4. Plus being let go in a room with 8 others was the icing on the cake. (yep you read right, classy - so keep that in mind before you say xazoogler is whiny)
What will I do now? Either become an affiliate (as one poster suggested - though do you guys really need more competition?) and/or find something else before my severance expires.
I would like to thank Joe and Alex for the opportunity to work at AzoogleAds - they did start off with something great.
