Anyone Using Link Emperor?

I used LE for 4 months. This was because I meet Kevin and Bobby in vegas. Cool guys except for Kevin has bad BO and Bobby has a thing for fat whales. Besides that, their normal.

UI is pretty, a lot better then other back link tools out there.

The service is legit for long tails.

I stopped using because I ran out of unemployment checks and had to move back into my parent's place.

Finally all my "kinks" have been worked out. This is a great service, the links are dripped SLOW. One thing to note, unless you're blasting 2nd or 3rd tier properties be sure to go in and change your link allocations to "Family friendly links" or whatever they call it otherwise your money site gets blasted to ever spam-laden .RU porno forum on the net.

Hey man! Thanks for the feeback and glad you like the "clean link sources" option. We had many customers that requested this and am glad we could integrate it in. Have you tried out the new article tab yet?

Brett :)

lukep and Hav3n,

Could you give us an update on your experience with Link Emperor? I am still on the fence...

Well... i ended up cancelling.

1) I thought I had setup my link allocations how I wanted them. Then i made a change and ended up going back to the default settings. (my fault)

2) I think this service is really great for larger sites. I personally have a lot of 1-10 pages sites and so I just couldn't justify the costs per month to go after long tails.

that said............

If I ever get back into client SEO work this software will save you hours and and with great reporting and can make any client happy since they have all sorts of link types. (for clients that only want white-hat articles or whatever).

So its on the shelf for now... but not forever.

Not I; in fact I more than Doubled my number of monthly links!

This is turning into the longtail promotion tool of my dreams. It's a whole new functionality I've never had before to be able to take my existing landers and KWs and throw all kinds of links at all of them so effortlessly. This thing is absolutely MADE for promoting tons of longtails... I can't imagine another use for it that it would do half as good a job at.

Just so I don't sound like a fanboy, I want to mention that not every vendor inside is perfect. One didn't get a job done in time, so LE refunded my link credits for that job automatically. Another vendor's package only managed to get 30% of the links to stick, so I dropped that vendor manually inside the LE backlink allocation panel.

...But c'mon, if this is the only type of downside for using a vendor marketplace like this then I can't see why everyone isn't using LE or similar service.

REVIEW

Operation:
First off, the system works VERY well. It works exactly as advertised. These guys got their shit down, no doubt, and they should be improving with time.

But that doesn't mean you can be a damned fool with it....

Cost:
This is where I got completely humiliated when running the numbers, but there IS a way around it.

Let's do some math, looking at Dripable's links:

500 links (250 profiles, 250 comments) at 400 credits.

30000 credits for $127 = 0.004233333333333 Per Credit Cost

400 Credits * 0.004233333333333 = $1.69 for 500 links = $0.0034 / link

Or, with Dripable directly, I pay $97 and get 4000 links per day * 30 days = $0.000808333333333 / link.

$0.0034 / $0.000808333333333 = 4.19 = 419% = 4X markup.
So if you stick with a base account and the 15% discount you'll find here, but don't add any more credits, you're going to end up with a whopping 4X markup! This simply isn't worth it!

However, look what happens if you take the Alexander plan ($149 retail) and add 4 more sets of link credits:

500 links (250 profiles, 250 comments) at 400 credits.

30000 credits for 149 + 120000 credits for $200 = 150,000 credits for $349. 15% discount = $296.65 = 0.001977667 per credit cost.

400 Credits * 0.001977667 = $0.791066667 for 500 links = $0.001582133 / link

Or, with Dripable directly, I pay $97 and get 4000 links per day * 30 days = $0.000808333333333 / link.

$0.001582133 / $0.000808333333333 = 1.95 = 195% = 1.95X markup.
I did not run this math on any other services. You guys can feel free to do so, but I'm sure it's not far off.

After seeing this and not having time to re-tool, I canceled my subscription. But I am NOT gone forever!

Types of Links

This is huge.

Now, if you already have Dripable, DFB, BackBlasts, etc... I really don't think you need or want to pay that overhead - definitely not at 4X, but not even at 2X either. Why bother when you can get Dripable yourself?

But, what about the stuff where there are NO other quality, dripped, services? Web 2.0's? PR Blog Comments? Articles? Social Bookmarks? SENuke? Profile Linkwheels? .edu/.gov?

In those cases, I definitely think it's worth it if you have other shit going on and don't want to babysit and monitor your link diversity.

Strategy

But note, if you add more credits to the Alexander account, you're still going to be stuck at 50 keywords. That's probably a good thing. Just because you have 50 keywords available with the base account doesn't mean you should use that. It'll spread you WAY too thin!

SERPS
Here's one:

MicroSiteMasters - View Keyword Info

This is the homepage, about 10,000 local exact matches, SerpIQ CI of 45. My site is 4 months old and has the keyword (plus another word) in the domain, and I am slowly adding content, but perhaps not fast enough.

I need more powerful links no doubt, and way too much of my link emperor account got diverted away from this one, so it's not a fair judgment either.

Conclusion

AS IS, this service is not worth it. But if you drop more money into it, and use different kinds of links to get things automated that are not normally automated in a drip capacity, I am fully on board.

I will be rejoining sometime in the next month once I have things figured out... just add it to the list of 8 zillion things to do!

Thanks for the patience guys. Hope this helps your decision making.

Mind sharing the ratios you're using? Was it one of the PR Blog Comments services that wasn't sticking?

Oh why not...

I simply tested each of the following link reports with Scrapebox's free link checker tool for the domain itself, not even the exact url:

LinkPushing's Priv Blog Posts = 19 out of 30 .... 63% found.
LinkPushing's Sm SENuke pkg = 57 out of 119 .... 48% found.
SPC's Article Directories = 73 out of 105 ..... 69% found.
SPC's Blog Comments = 1970 out of 5903 ... 33% found.
SPC's Link Pyramid = 631 out of 3134 .... 20% found.

This is by no means a complete list of what has run so far, just some random stuff. Your results will likely vary... But I did drop the three worst performers above so far and am trying others now.

This looks like it could be really good but as what Berto noted the ROI needs to be calculated on my end first. I want to scale up quite a bit in 2012 so looking to either hire more VAs or perhaps try this out instead.

On a technical level is seems very well done, an impressed with all the modules from what I've seen on the sales page.

This is for anyone interested...

I used this to figure out how many days and how much each link from each package was going to cost me in both time and $

outofdate.xlsx

It is now out of date since they've added more providers... but again just posted up for anyone interested (was going for articles, blog networks and bookmarks).

Yeah second that +rep.

You basically hit the nail on the head with the proper way to use this service. Automate the drips on things that can't already be dripped via DFB/Dripable/Backblasts and the like, and use the ones that get you the best value.

I'd just add the highest value Web 2.0 and have at it with the Alexander Package + 4 extra linkbuilding units on 50 keywords.

Hey guys,

Some great feedback here in this thread! I would like to add just a couple of points to this discussion.

1) We are in the process of upgrading our vendors quality and stick rate. Over the next 30 days, vendors will be required to submit their service in terms of minimum guaranteed links and have incentives to over-deliver on their orders. I think this is going to get the vendors to where we expected them to do on their own. Any blasts that that don't meet the minimum requirement will be returned and the vendor will have any remaining time to redo the blast or refund the credits.

2) While most of our customers tend to calculate the cost per credit based on the price of the plan, we do not. We base our cost per credit on the additional credit packs (30,000 credits for $50.00 - $0.0016 each). The reason is because most of the cost of your plan goes to the system tools (ranking, articles, keyword research, etc).

Thanks again for your honest feedback guys. We appreciate people sharing their real responses and not just some smoke and mirrors testimonials.

Brett :)

I've 1 suggestion for the one-off order feature.
Can this be adjusted to include more than 1 keyword and url?

1 thing I like to do with new sites is run high PR blog comments from the start but doing them all with the same anchor is a no-no so would be good if I could choose say 3 anchors per URL.

Other than that - so far so good.

Have you considered doing some of these services in house?

Most services are already marked up quite a bit from what a VA could do for you. Then being further marked up here (although I see your point about the other bits of the interface contributing to that) causes ROI to drop more.

Considering how well it looks coded overall it seems you could whip up some automated stuff of your own.

Have you tried out the new article tab yet?

Brett :)

I haven't. Thanks for the heads up. This service is great for link velocity. I set it and forget it, then hit my websites with some high quality, authoritative links every once in a while and the SERPs inch up week by week.

This feature is actually on our feature request log and has many people asking for it. Hopefully this will make it to the top of the list very soon and get added in. The key will be making sure that we can properly link the requirements from the vendor to the One-Time order form.

Stay tuned!

Brett :)
