It's not like it's in their TOS or anything. Before you introduced the monkey page, how did you get around the Adwords rules for sending them straight to the merchant? I know you used a forwarding domain, but even so, that never works for me!
You're right. I've always thought it *was* in the TOS but after closer reading:
"We also monitor and do not allow the following:It's only if you're using a misleading display URL, I guess. Or is it? I'm confused.
- Redirect URLs: Ads that contain Display URLs that automatically redirect to the parent company."
So, if it's not against the TOS, how do you get around it if they disable your ad? Is there a loophole or is it just luck?
One other thing fenryr, do you use a forwarding domain?
take it slow though
I lost 700$ in ringtones in one month once
Who's promoting ringtones? I mentioned Shoe's article because it has some great points about keywords that I found helpful.
I haven't said what I'm promoting, and I'm not going to until I'm no longer promoting said item.
BTW, anybody know how to turn the content network off?
Btw, you might want to take those "advices" with a grain of salt. I have spoken with MANY affiliate managers in my time and only few of them actually understood how Adwords works. Most of them just think that higher bids == more traffic == more potential sells for them, and they don't really give a shit if you lose money. Why they don't care? Because you obviously don't know what you are doing if you have to ask them what to do so you don't probably last very long so why not squeeze those few extra sales out of you. Thanks EHamilton! I got the content network turned off. Upped my bids a little bit, and completely reworked my landing page.
I wasn't planning on touching the bids, but I spoke to my affiliate manager and it was recommended that the bids be changed. So, since they've been doing this just a little longer than I have, I thought that it might prudent to listen.
