Where Should I Move?

lulz... if you think B'ham is a "smoking shithole" with tons of illegal immigrants you haven't traveled much.

Well yeah, I know there are a lot worse places out there, but that doesn't change the fact that I would never want to live there. I'd choose a place that's actually nice. It's not like Bellingham was much cheaper than nicer places in Washington....just more shitty.

Minnesota, hands down.

Drive 30 minutes 1-way into an awesome city, drive 30 the other and you are in the boonies.

If you're looking for mountains, you're out of luck.

- Somewhere outside of Seattle. Kitsap Peninsula looks nice.

I live out on Vancouver Island, so I'm pretty close (right next to really) Washington and maybe Seattle I'm to fucking lazy to check a map.

But heres a few things to know.

-People come here in the Summer and are like OMFG moving here to live so fucking beautiful. Sucks that that weather lasts 3-4 months top. The other 8-9 months are spent in dark, wet, depressive weather.

But there is a shit ton of outdoor activities to do on the West Coast. Hiking, whitewater rafting, tons of shit. I mean you could hit up Grouse or even Whistler for skiing if you're by the border.

Pretty much meets all your requirements (can't comment on crime since all areas are different). But the weather kinda sucks.

If you do consider Canada/BC. Definitely choose the interior, hands down best powda in the world (cause unlike coastal BC, the interior is dry, makes for very good snow)

FUCK! Whatever you do, don't follow this advice. I just moved from Bellingham two years ago. It used to be nice but it's turned into a smoking shithole. Tons of illegal immigrants and virtually no city ordinance = Mexico in America = wealthier people move away, the city gets less tax money, and the city gets even more shitty. There are a lot of nice places in Washington, but Bellingham is NOT one of them. But as bad as Bellingham was, it's a paradise compared to Minnesota where I'm living now temporarily. So stay the hell away from Minnesota. The people here are crazy. They've lived in this shithole their whole lives and they think it's the best place in the world. Some people have never left Minneapolis. I almost die every time I drive anywhere thanks to the road being full of dipshits. I've seriously almost died 17 times in the past year.....and I work from home and don't even drive much! I've also been in 3 accidents....every one from some idiot slamming into the back of me. My $50k car is worth like $2 now that it's had like 20k worth of body work done.

LOL, we should meet up. I'm born and raised in the Twin Cities, and one of the few who havent gone into 'zombie' mode.

I live in Thailand half of the year. I am only here because I have a kid here.

When she's 18 I'm burning rubber out.

Ha. I suppose your right. There are quite a few lunatics around here. It's probably time I do some more traveling. Tell me where there are less dumb people and I'll be there.

I'm from the W/SW suburbs and I have nothing to complain about, beside it being extremely slow-paced. I did some work in some of the eastern burbs earlier this summer. Man, the difference is like night and day. It can get pretty rough over there.
