Where Should I Move?

Another vote for Bellingham here, I live in Washington and have spent time in Florida, Texas. All the comments are accurate as far as Washington goes. I would like to add Washington State has no income tax and Bellingham also has an airport you can fly out of if you want. It is also next to the San Juan Islands if you have ever wanted to get into boating etc.

Good luck with your search.

Ive lived in two of those.

Colorado Springs - Great down, much different schedule than east coast. Happy Hour ourshines Late Night. Hiking was AWESOME. Boulder might be a better choice but I loved the springs. Manitou Springs is a bit more towards the mountain. Driving to New Mexico in a few Hours, Denver in an Hour. Some really nice little places. Somewhat like living in Boca when you are 40 minutes from Miami (as far as being close to Denver is concerned). Really white, I do hear that crime has picked up since I left. The town is split between downtown and everwhere else (everywhere else is extremely christian and white so I would suggests downtown for the cutlure)

Asheville - Lived there for a year. LIVE DOWNTOWN there are some AWESOME condos. GREAT RESTAURANTS. Hikings is ok but I like the rockies better than the smokies. BoBo is a great bar downtown and there are a ton of great restaurants. As far as being an hour from somewhere Charlotte is cool not like Denver or Miami but cool. Great art, great culture, great music, hated leaving there. There is a condo on lexington across the Orange Peel that is AWESOME. Really close to everything. Friday nights in the spring, summer and fall downtown are amazing. Drum Circles in the middle of town.

So my bet, live both places. The springs for Winter and Spring, Asheville for Summer and Fall. :)

I'm from Vancouver so I'm all about the Westcoast. Fit girls, Asian girls, and the outdoors is right on the edge of the city. The only problem is the nightlife is a bit of a hassle. They make you line up outside even when the place is empty. Here in Asia it's like fuck the fire regulations, come on in.

I'd like to hit up argentina too

Just curious why are you waiting to go international ?

Why wait for phase 1 of phase 2 section 8 page B4

Have kids. Basically, I plan on going international over the summer for roughly 3 months in a variety of places and spending the next 9 stateside hopefully starting next summer. I want them to have a home with the same friends, school etc and simultaneously have the chance to live abroad and experience all of that. When they get older, possibly will move international more permanently.

Having just gotten back from NC, my vote is Asheville. We're considering moving there soon. It's gorgeous area and supposedly a lively community. Here's a pic off my parents porch (about 40 minutes from Asheville):

I love how half these places are in Stephen King's The Last Stand.

Why don't you move somewhere close to the Appalachian Mountains? Should have all you need if hurricane season doesn't do it for you :)

move to central pa and teach me how to be a baller

edit:
but in all seriousness.. it completely meets your criteria.. we have the seasons, scenery, tons of outdoor shit here with the mountains and all.. and right in between pittsburgh and philly..

Whatever you do don't listen to swiftclick and move to central PA the schools suck and the place is a hole.

In Co. you have terrible problems with natural gas extraction ruining the ground water. People are able to light the water coming out of their faucets on fire!

N.C. is nice, again the public schools aren't great, but you're close to the beach and the Smokey Mtns. are gorgeous.

Outside Seattle is amazing. Schools are great, everyone is friendly for the most part, and while tit may not snow here you are an hour from the mountains at most and can golf most of the year. I have been here for a year and a half and don't see myself going anywhere any time soon.

One of the best cities in the Puget Sound IMO is Bellingham. Population is around 75k with a great university and lots of outdoor activities (skiing, camping/hiking, saltwater and fresh water fishing, etc)

FUCK! Whatever you do, don't follow this advice. I just moved from Bellingham two years ago. It used to be nice but it's turned into a smoking shithole. Tons of illegal immigrants and virtually no city ordinance = Mexico in America = wealthier people move away, the city gets less tax money, and the city gets even more shitty. There are a lot of nice places in Washington, but Bellingham is NOT one of them. But as bad as Bellingham was, it's a paradise compared to Minnesota where I'm living now temporarily. So stay the hell away from Minnesota. The people here are crazy. They've lived in this shithole their whole lives and they think it's the best place in the world. Some people have never left Minneapolis. I almost die every time I drive anywhere thanks to the road being full of dipshits. I've seriously almost died 17 times in the past year.....and I work from home and don't even drive much! I've also been in 3 accidents....every one from some idiot slamming into the back of me. My $50k car is worth like $2 now that it's had like 20k worth of body work done.

If I were choosing US, I'd go with the Washington/Oregon area. Or maybe update New York. In Canada I'd look around Vancouver and Kelowna BC. Calgary could be alright and close to Banff. Haven't made it to Montreal and supposedly a great place. Besides the city many comment on the people loving life and having a great attitude. But the Vancouver area tops my list.

I'm in Raleigh.

Asheville is nice and laid back. If you like the mountains and are looking for an eclectic / art / nature area you'll enjoy it. I get out that way once every year or two.

Also, you have the Biltmore right there. Its a cool place to go and bring people when they are visiting.

lulz... if you think B'ham is a "smoking shithole" with tons of illegal immigrants you haven't traveled much.
