What was your favorite job & why?

Was a banquet manager at a private beach club. Threw beach parties all summer long

Also built huge theme parties for a major hotel. We would buid entire cities inside a ballroom for huge corporate parties.

I used to operate one of these:

Shit was pretty fun. We had a lot of down time because of blastings and such, so we would drag race them, or just find a long stretch of road and see how fast we could get them up to. OSHA would have shit a brick.

I've seen one of the shows on Discover Channel where they build those things. I can't believe the size of the diesel engine they hoist in there. That must have been fun as hell.

I worked as an advertising copywriter for a while, in a real office in Manhattan, back in the day. I didn't work there all that long, nor did I like the place or the people I worked with. But the fact that I was writing stuff like radio ad scripts that were actually being produced and broadcast was pretty cool to me.

I did all kinds of other stupid jobs I hated.

Waiting tables at a non chain tex mex place when I was 19 was pretty fun. Everybody was real cool, no stress at all, the managers just smoked out all the time, they were baby sitting some rich guy's tax shelter.

I enjoyed my time at an advertising related start up two years back even though I was doing about 50-70 hours a week, the team of developers was awesome and we all had a pretty tight bond, and I really stepped up my programming skills. Management was another story. 90% of us got laid off two years ago when the economy tanked, now it's running with a skeleton crew. I know more than a few people on WF use the product I helped build, I'm still proud of the product itself.

I once worked as a janitor at an Ivy League university, even though I felt like I was smarter than everyone else there. Sometimes there would be half an equation on a board, and I'd finish it. I dated a student there. She was British. Had a huge face though.

That sounds like a movie I saw once, I think it was called "Weekend at Bernie's"

As an adult I've been a merchant banker, a personal banker, a bank teller, and a broker in training... When I was younger (high school) I worked in retail for GAP & Nautica, sold coffee at Gloria Jeans, was a telemarketer, and a busboy. Even younger I had one job and to this day that job was the most fun I ever had while working for someone else...

I was the Little League Scoreboard operator who was paid in hotdogs. In middle school nothing beat hanging out at the park, getting free food, and bribing the girls to hang out with you for free food.

Carvel (ice cream shop)... the owner left at 6 and I came in at 6... hired all my friends... we ate ice cream and hung out all night... this was middle school and highschool

doing SEO for an unnamed ecom retailer...

I would just hire guys off WF and DP to do the work for like $10, $30 max and then pocket the salary I made while doing nothing all day but reading WF. Arbitrage FTW

Worked at a haunted house/hayride during high school. I was a ghost. Best fuck off job I've ever had. I remember lighting a Christmas tree on fire (place was a Christmas tree farm during winter) next to the hayride, people thought it was part of the show. Some of the hottest "carefree" chicks in high school worked there, enough said.

I worked at KFC as a toilet cleaner for a month or two and really enjoyed it.
I had to leave it because they paid really low.

Working at an internet cafe... Meeting tons of people, including lots of hot girls... We formed a group of friends that used to hang out there every day. Just stay on the stairs and smoke cigarettes and shoot the shit. Was so much fun it could have been a sitcom.

At night we'd lock up, smoke up and play 3d shooters till the sun comes up... Best freakin' job ever

Also worked at a theme park. What a great summer. Girls, girls, girls. All the jobs for rides were taken so had to work in food and beverage. Totally disgusting what goes on behind the counter in one of those places. Couldn't eat out for almost a year. But it was all worth it because there was always girls, girls, girls. You might say I got to work in "rides" anyway.
