What was your favorite job & why?

Whoring via sms, sending guys pervy text messages. It was fun for a while but it gets old, especially when companies expect you to work 24/7 for slave wages but I enjoyed the run. The hardcore fetishists were always the most amusing.

I also used to sell glowy jewellery and things at raves, spend a few hours doing it, pack up and enjoy the rest of the night.

I was a lowly dishwasher at a hotel/banquet center when I was about 19. However, almost every one of my friends worked there in some form or fashion. My whole crew ran the place - cooks, busboys, maintenance, bartender, front desk - we all ran together from high school so it was like getting paid to bullshit with your friends all day. The best part was, we would do banquets almost every day for the auto industry, insurance companies, universities etc, and they would always order like 80 prime rib dinners, lobster tails, filets, etc - but only 50 people would show up so we would end up feasting on that shit all day long.
Similar experience. Great times.

This. I will never ever ever have a job working for somebody else.

Just for grins you should temporary try it one of these days. Depending on the business the red tape, rigid structure and inefficiency will let you see and question things in a new light. You will see challenges from a different viewpoint.

I worked in a major bank as a contractor once. The hoops that the employee's had to go through just to get something obvious done was a nightmare. Being from the outside I wasn't restricted to their 37 steps that must be completed in order to accomplish a simple task. Often by the time they were filling out the 2cond TPS Report I had the job finished.

I consider that time "working for somebody else" equal to a significant amount of time I spent in college. Except they paid me for one of life lessons.

My current job is my favorite. I work from home, 40 hours a week, slack ass IT support job. At the most I put in 8 hours of real work a week. I get to put alot of time into my two businesses because of this. Most people I tell this too immediately start hating on me or have a hard time believing it.

Your need to specify that you were the receiver hints that maybe another time you were the giver, no?

;)

No. I was just trying to pre-empt any gay jokes from the Gay Webmasters. And I guess I wasn't really the performer of the job- so it probably doesn't count.

Being a game tester.

You get to hang with a bunch of gamers all day and make fun of the games you are playing.

When you have to work overtime...gasp...you get to play more games.

Granted the games are not all awesome, but even if its a baseball game its better than actual work.

Only problem is it pays like crap.
