What do your parents think about your online earnings? Do they think you should quit and get a "Real" job? Stop spending so much time on the pc? what?

A few months ok my parents didnt know much about the internet, I then showed them some blogs of the big earners on the net.. they now know why i want to do this instead of working a dead end job.

What do your parents think?
 


My parents really thought I was wasting my time for the first month I started. So I showed them my Adsense stats, and after that they have been pretty cool about it. But still they always talk about how I need to "get out" more and crap like that.

That's why I am scrambling to make internet marketing work for me. Because I know that someday soon they are going to say "enough is enough".

and before you know it, I'm working at freaking McDonalds.

Hell no. I won't let that happen.
 
Being that I've been making more money than both of my parents combined since I was about 15, they have no issuse with me doing what I do.

I make half what my dad makes, but my parent's think it's great. I don't really care what they think however.
 
The problem, in my case, is the fact I can't just "leave" or tell them "I don't care what you think" because of whole money issue. It really sucks being a dependent because you have to do what they say because they will kick you out on the street otherwise. But because of that, you can't follow your dreams because you are under their control.

Gah, this just reminds me how frustrated I am...time to make some dollars. I just got accepted to Azoogle a minute ago!
 
My dad thinks I need to get a second job at McDonalds and my mom is supportive. But since I've been on my own for the last 14 years, it's pretty much irrelevant.

Now, my wife wasn't too keen on it at first, but since it isn't costing us money she's good with it.
 
My mum and dad think it is a waste of time, But i also have a job. So aslong as i dont quit that i dont think they care.
I adventually want to quit work when i start making a decent amount of money though :D
 
My parents have passed on....still waiting to make contact!

My step dad is for anything that might help me stop working so hard and doesn't take much money to do!

As a parent of an internet entrepreneur....I'm glad he's on the right path and opened my eyes. I am raising his younger two sisters to do this. They already have discouragement from others and say "its OK...they just don't really know about it." The girls think its a good idea and want to work on their blog all the time. My daughters are 9 and 12 yrs old!

My Mom is and always has been supportive. My Dad isn't into computers other than solitaire so he just doesn't get it.

[vent]My MIL on the other hand. If she tells me to get a *real* job or calls me about the career fair one more damn time I just might kill her. I don't necessarily care what she thinks but its to a point now that its insulting and none of her god damn business. [/vent over]

A 16 year old guy sitting in his bedroom on the internet, all day and all night...
