I just want to point out that not only is this by far one of the most popular threads of information on WickedFire as a whole, but the information on here is invaluable, and I'm really glad to see so many people giving their insights and feedback. It seems ppc arbitrage has become the market of choice for so many people here, and it's even cooler to see how many people have had success with it too. Keep up the fantastic work everyone, and best of all, keep the information flowing for free, the way it should be!

arb site layout

what type of layout do you use for your arbi site and what layouts seem to convert better?

If I put my arbi page in a subdomain of my current site will it hurt my real site's google rank?

Also, what are the chances of google banning your account for doing arbi?

Klingerrr,

Typically people use layouts without any images (faster loading times) and about 200 or so words of text, targeting certain high paying keywords, with ads placed towards the top of the page on the left.

What about images next to ads?

candyman, when you only have about 200 words on the page and the ad titles are in blue you don't need images, my personal testing shows images are no advantage but make the page take longer to load!

No, I doubt it will do anything for rank, never heard of it doing anything bad at least.

The chances of Google banning you for a MFA site.. hmm, slim to none. As long you follow the site guidelines you're in the clear. Just don't make your MFA page look like a generic MFA page/site and you'll be completely okay. MFA sites are typically filled with content and adsense ads, what's wrong with that exactly?

What about images next to ads?

It was suggested on their blog that you don't do it, but there is nothing in their rules that say you can't. If it really worries you, either don't do it, or put a border around the images so they look seperate from the ads. They won't ban you or penalize you for something that isn't written in their TOS.

For some reason I never checked this thread after the date of the original post. Good info here.. I have noticed that a lot of people just getting into arbitrage get carried away with the design of the site and layout and this and that. I purposely make all arbitrage sites looking like they were made in 1995.

yeah I guess the best way to find out is testing it yourself....got 2 of my arbit running one aff campaign each, we'll see how it goes!

running aff campaigns with arbits site .....sucks ...wellz for me it is

I haven't made any leads since my last post....i also notice it was more of a leak for my arbit sites.

Great thread, thanks for the info.

Weren't the keywords going to be made public for this test?

keywords were going to be made public but some people got there nickers in a bunch and well I decided not to. However, you could find the keywords used for the 7search test by typing the main keyword in there search tool. at that point I just added all keywords down to a think it was 100 searches a month. this takes some work with 7search. I also picked a keyword that had a lot of competition because the keyword was not what this thread was about. I was not trying to do something that would get flooded and ruin mine or anyone elses niche. What is more important is the process.
As an update the aff offer died a couple weeks ago, it was getting crap for conversions. I don't recomend using 7search for aff that was pure luck!

WOW! I just spent two days, ok not a full two days but close enough, reading thru this thread, what a great read!

I do have one question though. I understand why you decided not to give out the keyword list, it only makes sense really but I am curious about how targeted your keywords were. For example, if you use Google to build a keyword list and you use "mortgage" as the keyword it will return result that are relevant but not highly targeted at your page, keywords it spits out such as argent mortgage, ameriquest mortgage, lincoln mortgage although targeted seem like they wouldnt produce the desired results as opposed to keywords such as bad credit mortgage, mortgage financing, etc... So I guess my question is how targeted were your keywords for the arbi campaign?

Chrislingle you f**in rock. Some stuff was new, some wasnt but the fact you are taking this much personal time out of your life to help us fellow noobs is simply amazing. I'm actually trying my first campain starting in a few hours with a new domain, 10,000 keywords, one landing page. One link in the middle of the page for aff and widebanner along the bottom. The entire middle of the page is one big ad which is a landing page provided by XY7 (its very nicely done, Shoemoney used something similar is his howto for ringtones, whcih is not the miche I'm doing). The aff is a 5$ lead only for filling out a form NO CC. My thinking behind it is people dont mind giving out email addresses rather then CC numbers. Anyways all my keyword bids are .05 cents. After running it Monday to Friday i will trim it down to the highest CTR keywords (and paying) and go from there. My ads basically says fill out our form and receive a free ??. No BS to the user so he knows exactly what hes getting into before clicking the ad. I figure I have a double shot becuase google along the bottom is paying about 8-15bucks for the high paying keywords in the niche so I have two chances to get em, or else the backout or close with no where else but the two links to go.

Anyways I will post back with my results and Chris screw buying you a beer I'll buy you a F**in bottle (JAck Daniels). L8R B8R.

with arbi you can go broad but the problem with that is your ads are not as relivant to your viewer if you only have 1 landing page. the best thing to do is use php and mysql to provide your clicker with relivant content. It takes more work but it can really raise your ctr. just an idea,
