US Government Shutdown What does this mean For Us And affiliate Marketing ?

what does the govt shutdown mean for us? Means I have to see a million updates in my facebook friend stream about people complaining that the military isnt getting paid. FUUUUUU

well newsflash maybe if we didnt send troops where they dont belong to fight battles they have no business fighting & [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx3_ynHjL-M"]murdering civilians [/ame]etc.

then we could afford a "defense" budget. not an offense budget
 


This is actually affecting me. My paycheck statment for the 1st-15th just came in. I'm getting paid through the 8th and thats it. Will get backpaid whenever they stop being petty and pass a bill funding us. I personally can absorb not getting a military paycheck, some younger troops I know are going to be in a serious bind if this goes on for very long at all...

This is my current FB status.
2+ Million households receiving welfare will continue to receive their taxpayer checks as their funds are good through September. Meanwhile the pay funds for 1,430,895 Active Duty members of the military will be gone 8APR11 & we are being used as political pawns in the budget talks - I really hate politicians.

EDIT - I actually agree with you iPwnNoobs. There needs to be significant cuts to our "offensive budget" (like that term btw, totally stealing it)
That said - if you weren't getting paid + were being told you HAD to go to work anyway then you'd probably be complaining too.

Federal funding for Planned Parenthood is legally not allowed to be used for abortions. Abortions aren't free at Planned Parenthood either. You have to pay for them in full up front. Also, Planned Parenthood encourages donations.

PP is a sexual/women's health clinic. You can go in and find out what that thing is on your dick, get a bunch of free condoms and lube, leave a donation if you want, and then you're gone.

They're a good organization, and literally every single politician who stands up and says "we refuse to fund abortions" should be fucking fired because that's not the issue they're debating over. No money goes to the abortions that comes from the government.

It's yet another case of sensationalism dictating what our politicians are arguing over rather than whats actually on the bill.

It's fucking bullshit.

The issue of rampant unplanned parenthood is generally because of poor socio-economic environments and inadequate sexual health education, not simply "STUPID Teenagers".

Not exactly. Here's the problem:

To your point, it's true that fed funds are not allocated toward abortions. That is to say, the tax dollars taken from you and I are not handed over for the express purpose of performing an abortion. It's not a line item on anybody's books. Not the state's, and not the clinic's.

However, giving tax dollars to Planned Parenthood for the purpose of providing other services allows them to allocate other funds toward abortions. Some people have a problem with abortions, and get caught up in the argument of, "I DON'T WANT MY TAXES USED TO KILL BABIES!."

But that misses the real point. For me, the issue is, and always will be, the coercive appropriation of private property. It doesn't matter if that property is being sent to Planned Parenthood, used to buy Apaches, or to bail out car companies, insurers, and investment firms.

It's either given willingly or taken through aggression.

why the fuck is people on welfare getting anything at all past today but plenty of people I know in the mil. and people waiting on paper checks from the IRS wont be getting anything soon.

The shutdown might occur not directly because of planned parent hood, but because the federal budget hasn't been approved for this fiscal year. the funding from the previous budget ends around the 15th, and with no new budget they don't have a plan to divide up the $$.

Planned parenthood is partially funded by the federal budget, so they will be effected, but aren't the reason that there's going to be a shutdown.
 
hmmph....most of this dribble is off topic political back and forth while the question was "US Government Shutdown What does this mean For Us And affiliate Marketing ?" to which the answer is "not a GODDAMN THING!"... we'd all be FUCKED if the government shutting down (or potentially shutting down) had any affect on us at all, which would really give us all something to begin a real bitchfest about. While the points being brought up and argued about are in and of themselves valid...this thread went sideways...

I guess most of you were kids when it happened under Clinton. For most of the population it's minor. Unless you are one of the ones not getting paid (like the military) it's no big deal.

UNLESS our politicians don't get their head out of their asses and do something. Then it's going to affect all of us.

I only regret the traffic I will lose from the government employees browsing at work. I am looking forward to huge income gains on facebook apps - and more impresssions on my ads there.
 
Welfare will get paid while the troops do not. Guess that shows where our priorities lie.
