US Fires Missiled Into Libya

gadaffi or high oil prices if the refineries get into the hands of the opposition. take your pick.

Why would the opposition not want to sell oil? They can only sell it at the price the market demands, otherwise who intheir right mind would buy it?

France wants less brown people from Africa coming across the Mediterranean and immigrating. I'm not even kidding.
Most of western Europe wants less immigration period, because welfare states cannot handle massive influxes of unskilled immigrants and it creates pressure on the cultural norms of the society.

The French, first and foremost (and rightfully so) are looking out for themselves.

Too little, too late. And whereas Bush went through Congress, Obama is using military force illegally. This is such an obvious political move to pander to the right for 2012.

That's the same reason the European countries opened the floodgates in the first place, because their birth rates were declining and they needed workers for their economy.

Bush's use was also illegal. America hasn't had a declaration of war since WWII.

What does that say about the right?

Actually, they opened their gates to destroy European society and to destroy any last vestiges of property rights by allowing the welfare state to go super viral.

MARCH 19, 2011
OBAMA: 'Today we are part of a broad coalition. We are answering the calls of a threatened people. And we are acting in the interests of the United States and the world'...

MARCH 19, 2003
BUSH: 'American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger'...

I guess you say similar things for similar situations..

If Congress votes on it and Congress has the authority, why waste time on semantics? What a pointless point to argue over. Did Obama go through Congress?

What does that say about the right?

It only says something if it works, but then again a large majority of them get suckered over and over again anyways, so it could.

Actually, they opened their gates to destroy European society and to destroy any last vestiges of property rights by allowing the welfare state to go super viral.

Talk conspiracy all you want, the fact remains the Europeans only average around 1.5 kid per family and that can't sustain an economy. Mathematically, that obviously makes sense. They're more concerned about the Muslims trying to take over than any economic welfare state considerations, because the Muslims average around 3X more and are rapidly changing the demographics.

uhh... everyone, until there's an alternative.

My point is that they can't decide to charge more than the market price, because nobody would choose to buy it, they'd just get it cheaper from someone else, so the only choices are sell at market price or stop selling and make no money. They only supply a few percent of oil, so it's not like they can hold the oil consuming world to ransom.

they'd just get it cheaper from someone else
lol... like where? europe, at least italy get 20% of their oil from libya. which explains why it's france attacking them mostly. gaddafi would be charging italy more already if he and berlusconi weren't butt buddies.

It's anything but pointless. The integrity of national and international law hangs in the balance. And Congress didn't vote on shit. The only thing our spineless Congress votes on is official acts of war, which they haven't done since WWII, and funding 'military operations' unilaterally declared by the executive branch and backed by the warmongers at the UN.

Congress doesn't declare war. It signs checks. And Presidents don't 'go through Congress' to get what they want. They, along with Congress and the UN, are ordered to do what Wall Street and the military industrial complex tell them to do. It's not a partisan issue.

The only practical difference between Bush and Obama when it comes to war is that Bush was a warmonger in the name of national security and redneck aggression and Obama is a warmonger in the name of human rights and dancing unicorns. The rest is just good old fashioned war crimes.

the Muslims trying to take over
Your grasp of cultural nuance is truly astounding.

Anywhere. It'd cost slightly more than Libyan oil because of transport costs and there might be some slight short term disruptions, but it's not the end of the world.

Did you expect me to respond to your brainwashed idiocy? At least Guerilla has original opinions. I'll try and get one simple fact through your diseased mind:

Only Congress has the power to declare war. In Iraq, CONGRESS voted for an authorization of force, effectively a declaration of war. So it doesn't really matter what the wording was, they had the authority, they used it, so it went through the proper legal and constitutional channels.

With Libya, Congress didn't vote on anything. The UN did. And the UN has no power over our military. That's what makes this so disturbing. If the UN and Obama alone can command American troops to attack a country without the authorization of Congress, what kind of a precedent does that set?
