I agree, and some people will hate on that. I've had very good luck with them and for shared hosting would recommend them to anyone.

Me too, no probs with Hostgator at all, in fact the live web chat support is pretty damn good.

I love hostgator. So easy to use. Never had any issues with it. Hook it up with an FTP client and its golden.

Rackspace has epic support. It's not the cheapest but it is the best. Also don't forget their Slicehost offerings. $20 for the cheap slice which can handle some shit. I can't praise Rackspace enough.

Yup Rackspace are pretty damn competitive when it comes to support. Just goes to show you get what you pay for.

Most of the website that review and give these rankings do it on the basis of "who pays more money" instead of who's service is better. Personally i have been with nxghosting.com since last 1 year and i am completely satisfied with their service.

There are many hosts be very weary of top ten sites as they are 99.999999% of the time affiliate links or paid adveritizng by the webhost themself.
