The Walking Dead - Season 2 Starts Tonight!



Disappointed with this 1st episode, too much tv movie, nothing compared to season 1 opening. I hope for the next episodes.
BTW I liked:
Zombies flock;
Zombie dismembering in the wood;
 
Holy fuck that first episode was shit. Literally nothing interesting happens until the end. If they didn't have that clip of what's to come I'd probably never watch it again. It's like Jericho but with no mystery, and the slowest moving zombies in the universe.

Imagine 28 days later had slow zombies zzzzzzzzz

I hear you on that, but on my DVR (I'm through Time Warner Cable) you can adjust the end time. I typically set it a min or two later just to make sure it doesn't get cut off.

Also yes the episode wasn't really that great until the end, have a feeling they are setting up for something though. Even the best shows ever like the Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Dexter, etc.., they all have less than stellar episodes that set stuff up.
 
after watching breaking bad... this feels a joke in comparison, the bad script + the bad acting...whatever i'll probably still watch it.
 
GOD DAMN THIS SHOW MOVES SLOW

I don't wanna sound like a hipster, but the comics are fucking 10x better than this.

If they stay true to the comics then the future seasons are going to be amazing.
 
After watching ep2.01 .. they better not turn this show into fucking Jurassic Park where they constantly have children making idiotic decisions as the main plot device.
 
Season is starting super slow...though the worst walking dead episodes are better than 90% of the rest of the zombie genre.

Pains me to say so :-(
 
These last two episodes haven't been very good. No good storylines and not enough fight scenes. Season 1 was amazing though so I'm gonna give it a few more episodes to turn it around.

All you want are fight scenes? There are a lot of characters with stories to tell. I rather enjoyed both these episodes so far and look forward to the rest of the season. Tivo or torrent them. The episodes go rather quickly when you cut out the commercials. The first episode had 27 minutes of commercials and the second had 17 minutes. They don't move too slowly when you take out the shit in between.

I have one beef though... why the fuck are they driving around in dilapidated vehicles when they have the pick of the litter from tens of thousands of abandoned vehicles at the side of the highway? And what do they eat? I don't think we've ever seen them have a meal except maybe at the CDC.

The problem is there are barely any likeable characters in the entire show, nobody gives a fuck about their stories.

Here's a summary of who we have.

- The beardo guy who constantly fixes the Winnebago, he's the only character I actually like.
- Silly little girl that gets completely lost, good riddance.
- Her mother with the shaved head who has been an emo the entire series.
- The blondie who wants to die because her sister died.
- Rick the cop, clueless his wife was banging the other cop when she thought he was dead. He's a nice guy but boring as hell.
- The other cop who banged his best mates wife.
- The never happy wife, a bit of a two-timing bitch. Didn't like her in prison break either.
- The black guy.
- An asian guy who has had about 2 lines so far this season.
- A redneck good with weapons, the only other character I enjoy.

I shouldn't nit pick but when they have characters who are supposed to be knowledgable do stupid shit it pisses me right off.

A few things off the top of my head:
- Rick leaving the little girl in the swamp while he runs off for fucken miles to kill two walkers, yet they killed about 5 of them in the church with ease. Yeah sure, they had weapons, but all he needed was a rock to kill those 2 anyway.

- At the end of episode 2, as they're leaving the medical supply truck, instead of slowly opening the door to see if it's clear outside like anybody with a fucken brain would do, they swing the door wide open, attracting the attention of all the zombies who subsequently chase after them.

- Seriously get rid of the fucken Winnebago! There's got to be a more reliable mode of transport for godsakes. It seems like it breaks down nearly every episode.

I have thought the same thing. I remember passing some large RV/camper dealerships while driving through Georgia in the past. There has to be some nicer ones abandoned on the road or in driveways too.
