Another feature request:
Allow us to add a URL for comparison after we've already analyzed keywords. Much easier on us and the servers than having to delete the keywords and re-add them with the added URL to also analyze.

That will be coming this week. It will actually automatically reanalyze the keyword to make sure all data is current since it's fairly easy to reanalyze within the system.

Can you add the ability to scrape from Page 2 and 3 of Google ??

This would be extremely helpful !

I could do this I suppose. Most of the time, the only thing that matters is page 1 competition (in my opinion) but from a technical standpoint, analyzing deeper pages is fairly trivial. I'll add it to my list.

Thank you,

The 2nd and 3rd page feature would be excellent to find/analyze potential SEO clients to contact and sell them on getting some seo work to help them get on 1st page.

After reading all the great reviews I thought I better give your product a try. I put in the first keyword and hit submit and have been waiting 38 minutes now for some sort of results but it says still processing... I thought it did this in seconds, did I break it or am I missing something?

All keywords have been completing in their normal times for a while now. My guess is you're in Firefox and the ajax updating isn't working. Try refreshing your screen and seeing if that helps.

I need to figure out what's going on in Firefox, but it's proven tricky to replicate. I believe it's a browser cacheing issue, I'll try and get it sorted out tonight.

Ya I am using firefox 3.6.13, I clicked on one of the side links as I got tired of waiting and then everything seems to be working fine.

I did a second keyword and the same thing happened, after 7 minutes I hit refresh and all is well... now to look over the product and see what it can do...

Should I use IE?

Chrome!

The system will work in IE, though you'll get the best animation performance out of Chrome. I'll be taking care of the firefox issue shortly, I've dealt with it before in other projects, like I said it's a cache issue.

More ideas:

When you pull related keywords in keyword discovery it would be very helpful to pull the actual keyword entered into the results so we can see search volume and then click to analyze that keyword with the others. This way we can do all of our entry from the keyword discovery page and do it only once.

Is there a way to add keywords to a group (or edit the group) after they've been analyzed? I've got a big block of keywords that need to be placed in groups.

Same thing with URL to compare with. It would be helpful edit urls when we reanalyze so if we create a page later using that keyword we can monitor it's progress.

Export and table formats would also be super awesome. This would be great for dumping keyword analysis for clients.

Drop down box for more keywords/page on the competition analyzer. I can see this getting unwieldy pretty fast.

Google is weird and doesn't return the seed keyword in the results. I'm planning on adding that today or tomorrow.

That's coming as well, I have it mapped out, will be live hopefully tonight

On the list as well

Not sure how/when/if/why/who/what I'll be addressing this one. I'm a huge fan of the animated filters tbh, so I'm reluctant to switch. I plan on adding more filters soon as well. Give me some time to continue tweaking and then we can duke it out over what is best :)

Seems simple enough, added to the list.

I'm going to be pushing some more changes tonight and I'll document it all in a blog post. Some of you probably saw that I added some more graphs, as well as domain age running pretty much perfectly 99.9% of the time. It's eye opening to see how old #1 domains average out to be!

I'll post the blog post link here tonight. Thanks guys.

Honestly a single button that dumps a csv with raw data via a single query would be good enough for me. You wouldn't even have to display it or format it, just list the fields and dump it to txt. Then we can do stuff like sort by whatever factors we care about and manipulate in excel.

Just suggestions. I don't know how you get all this done as it is.

Pushing a bunch of updates tonight, workin hard. Hopefully will make a few of you happy :)

Also, planning on making some changes tomorrow or the next day which should open the doors to a few new types of users. I'll detail it more when it's ready to go.

Alright, time for some updates:

1) When reanalyzing keywords, you now see the amount of change between the last CI and the current CI for both the top ten and your own keyword. It looks like this:

2) You can now change a keyword's group (or reset it to nothing) from within a keyword. Pretty self explanatory. Note: it automatically submits when you select a keyword (I did that to save UI space, shouldn't be a big deal). Here's what it looks like:

3) Keyword discoveries now include the seed keyword

4) bunch of bug fixes. Some of you have gotten emails from me when your keyword got stuck because the top ten results had an IP address in them, or you used capital letters in your domain. All of that is fixed now and things work damn near perfectly for all keywords.

I have more stuff to do, but I'm fairly burnt out at this point. Tomorrow, I'm going to be moving the payment system to a managed provider which will allow for upgrades and downgrades. Following that will be the availability of some new plan types.

Which means...white label reports are on their way. Get ready you agency and consultant types! Will be the epitome of sexy. Can't wait.

Another idea I'm dabbling with is a plain text mad lib description of the competition on the top 10. It will take some crafty working to make it happen, but I think it could be really handy. It would read very much like the Alexa Descriptions, such as this one for facebook.com:

Facebook is the second most popular site in the world according to the three-month Alexa traffic rankings. Search engines refer approximately 6% of visits to it. This site has been online since 1997, and the time spent in a typical visit to Facebook is roughly 33 minutes, with 38 seconds spent on each pageview. Relative to the overall population of internet users, this site's audience tends to be users who browse from school and home; they are also disproportionately women under the age of 45.

^^^that's all madlib, they have a system to automatically generate all of those. It's actually a really neat idea as it takes all of the numbers and data and makes sense of it all for ya. I'm hoping to have something like that done before the white label reports are done as having a nice plain text description in your PDF will make your clients cream themselves right there. I've done a ton of proposals over the years for clients and they love shit like that. So my plan for the white label reports is being drawn from my own extensive proposal writing experience, with the intention that you guys will land more clients with them.

Let me know what you all think. Thanks guys!

That sounds intriguing.

After typing it out, I've decided to pursue it 100%. Will have updates soon hopefully.

Hey man, you're welcome!

Minor Update: A few of you had some keywords that just refused to finish last night (about 5)...it was an issue with an API throwing an error I had never seen before. I pushed a change this morning that took care of it and everything is caught back up now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

How about an option to search for your previously analyzed keyword in the competition analyzer?

Right now I have nearly 10 pages of researched keywords and when you want to recheck that old keyword you have to navigate each page individually looking for that specific keyword.

sure, I can add that to the list. good idea. I'm also planning on adding customizable pagination by the way, for those of you who want to see more than 25 keywords per page.
