Announcing the Keyword Discovery Module
Keyword Discovery was the next major feature I've been dreaming about adding to serpIQ for a long time now. I am just plain bored with all of the tables and boring text that ALL other keyword research tools provide. So I built this:
Analyze a keyword just like you do in the Competition Analyzer. The system queries Google's API to get 100 related keywords (or as many as Google responds with, less with long tails) and then looks for available .com, .net, .org domains. Keywords usually take about 30-60 seconds to fully process, depending on the current work load.
You can use the filters at the top to visually sort the keyword blocks down to the criteria you're looking for (like above, where I've filtered down to all .net domains with over 1500 exact match searches per month).
Once you've found keywords you want to analyze the competition for, hover over the block and click it. A popup will show up, just like in the competition analyzer. Fill in the details and click submit.
You'll then see a little checkmark indicating the keyword is being analyzed (in the background) (like a boss).
Flip over to the competition analyzer, and you can see the keyword being analyzed. BOOM.
This is version 1. I intentionally kept the scraping limited here to make sure things scale appropriately. I'll be adding more details and analysis in the coming weeks as I watch things to make sure they're good.
Take it for a spin, send over feedback. Thanks!
PS: There's a possibility stress testing will beat up the system a little bit. I'll be keeping an eye on things and adjusting accordingly, all I ask for is a bit of patience in these first few days.
