In the past when I've been evaluating competition for keywords, I would just do it manually. Aside from a very basic spreadsheet, when I found a niche I was interested in I would always look over the SERPS for each keyword individually as I thought I was being thorough. Well, being thorough was very time consuming. What dchuk has built here, has all the necessities and more when it comes to eying up your competition. I know dchuk has put a lot of time into this, so I'll put some effort into my review...

Strengths

-Functionality: It's very straight to the point, displays all information in a logical manner.
-User friendly: Basically no learning curve, login and you're good to go regardless of your prior computer or SEO knowledge.
-Attractive: A lot of interfaces are just ugly, dchuk clearly took the time to make it look all nice and pretty :)
-Competition analysis: The actual data it pulls back is amazing, some of the factors I was never even aware of. I'm without a doubt going to be running all of my own sites through this as I'm sure I will be able to discover some areas needing improvement.

Weaknesses

-Daily limit: I know some of us make sites in batches and would be researching a lot of keywords in a day at some periods.
-Trust: For those people who don't know dchuk well enough to realize he isn't out to get all of our niches... they might be a bit sceptical about submitting their potentially valuable keywords.

Suggestions

-Local SEO: If it isn't too much trouble it would be nice if it could recognize place pages then judge a couple of the common factors of those.
-Domain age: I know this is a significant factor in SEO and it would be ideal if that was apart of the data retrieved.

Overall I'm just glad I won't have to manually analyze my competition anymore. Based on some of the weaknesses I discovered on my own websites and my competitors, I should be able to gain quite a few valuable spots. This tool will pay itself off in means of time saved and increased revenue. Highly recommended.

Thanks man! I'll be adding domain age support this week. Local SEO...not sure how I want to handle it. It's on (the lower part of) the list though.

UPDATE

Packetflip decided to be douchebags again tonight so things were timing out like crazy. I now have a split set of proxies, and it actually means shit is ridiculously fast now. I just ran the keyword "search engine optimization" and it did it this fast:

^^^^No one will beat that any time soon. secret sauce upon secret sauce making that magic happen.

YMMV, lots of people in the system might slow things down just a tad but it should be solid overall.

Also made huge gains on the keyword research front, I think that will be completely live by the end of this week.

Crushfest 2011, hang on tight folks.

EDIT: 3,999 posts...addicted much? :)

Been pretty bummed out at the news of the loss of our friend Brandon/kidChaos here all day so probably just gonna have a beer or two tonight and night do too much coding.

I have a few speed ideas in mind and will have the keyword research tool done by the end of this weekend. Also have two other ridiculous modules planned for deployment over the next few weeks.

Go hug someone you love.

Signed up and love the tool, but how about instead of giving us 25 a day you give us a monthly or weekly allotment?

I may go a week or 2 not using it and then spend an entire day doing research and 25 for that one day just doesn't cut it.

Really need folders to organize by niche, client or whatever.

Maybe I am retarded but if we add a url when analyzing a keyword, does the actual rank of the url entered show up?

I'm not sure where it's saying 25, my test accounts all show a 50 keyword/day limit. I limit daily to reduce the risk of bots, 99% of people never get anywhere near that amount per day. We all overestimate how much volume we need. The competition analyzer is a deep analysis tool, it's not meant for bulk research (IE 100's of keywords at once).

I like the idea of organizing keywords or grouping them, I'll plan out that feature this week.

You're not retarded, that's on my list for this week :)

Quick Update:

Major feature additions are in progress currently, but tonight I pushed a change that provided yet another major speed up in addition to now also scraping Stumbleupon Stumbles for each URL. I just ran a keyword that took 17 seconds to complete. :) :) :)

I have some plans to speed it up even more than that in the future, but at this point, I'm stoked. YMMV of course, under heavy load it might take up to a minute to do, but regardless, this is hands down the fastest, most thorough competition analysis tool on the market.

Major features coming soon. Also thinking about running a special short discount this weekend. Stay tuned!

Also, forgot to mention this last night: Facebook data is now all encompassing (likes, comments, shares, etc) rather than just likes. That metric is meant more as a popularity metric now and is a bit more accurate.

I am testing out a few keywords in my trial account, but it is saying my site is #1 for the keyword... But when I check it via google my site is #5. I know there can be some small discrepancies, but 5 spots is a little big.

Also, can you please add a country selector for us guys who do international SEO? My results for my keywords vary when searching in google.com vs. google.de

Can you please email the keyword + url at admin@serpiq.com? I'll take a look and see what's going on.

This is coming this weekend. So far my list of foreign Googles is:

.co.uk
.ca
.br
.de
.fr
.it

I'm open for any others that people request. Feel free to post them here.

Great! Just been billed for my second month and naturally I paid :)

I would love to have: .sk (Slovakia) / .cz (Czech Republic) / .ru (Russia) / .com.ua (Ukraine).

Thanks!
