Yep. You are screwing with people's lives.
Not to mention this guy works in an industry where he has the ability to probably fuck over thousands of people.
 


Went down to the local police station today and it was closed. A couple of officers were outside and I explained them my situation. They basically told me that since there was no LITERAL threat (yes, I explained each detail thoroughly), then they can't really do much. It was also the wrong police department for the area of town I was in and the guy gave me a number to the after-hours # so that I could call them and explain it. I'll be calling them soon. He also recommended I call up Kearny Mesa Ford about the whole deal.. I will be doing that tomorrow during business hours.

I will need some help getting this story out to the local news/media .. hit me up a PM if you are gonna call or if you want to call or email. Once I talk to Kearny Mesa Ford about this whole thing we can proceed from there (with the calling, at least ;)).

You might also want to look into lifelock. I think SSN protection is key, even if you go forward with criminal prosecution fixing that shit is a pain in the ass. It also goes a long way toward substantiating your claim (as a plaintiff) of distress and having to take preventative measures against his threat.

Lifelock btw has been sued repeatedly for having customer's SSN compromised ;) so it's not safe alternative anyway..... google is your friend..

No offense but don't take the word of a couple cops hanging around as gospel. Get SOMETHING on the record and get a copy of it - the FTC link above has some pretty good tips on that. The sooner you can get it on the record that someone might be trying to mess with your credit the better. Plus if you have a copy of a report when you start going to the media that might be a nice "prop" :P

Incorrect, they were sued by a customer claiming their service didn't act as advertised when some bum got a $500 payday loan taken out in the name of LifeLock's CEO after the loan company didn't bother doing a credit pull (why, I don't know).

Anyway, putting fraud alerts on your credit, and freezing the opening of new accounts with verification will take care of things. If you really want to use a commercial solution, buy through an affiliate link and get some money off in the process.

I agree, my ex-girlfriend had threats made against her from some drunk douche bag the cops got his number and went and found him at college. He backed off pretty quick. She did it all without my involvement, I find the police protection rather disturbing. We live in a much smaller city than you do I'm sure but still...

Garythiem.com banned in Google. Probably, Godaddy would have done something. Fatbat registered it with Godaddy and even hosted with them. I doubt if his other sites hosted on the same account are fine!

^^^ haha, I love google earth street view. The only problem I see with it is usually the street number they have doesn't usually match the house so hopefully you found the right one. It does seem to fit with the old shitty cars.
