Linux with win in a virtual machine when I need it(about once every 6 months).

There should also be a law on the internet never to bring up OS or programming language wars again. Both OS's have their fanbois.

After going strictly Windows since I was 14 or so, I'm getting a MBP next week. I had to make a choice between Win7 and a Mac... I'm just giving it a shot.

Does anyone know if there is a big difference between the 2.8 and the 3.06 MHz processor of the 17'' Mackbook Pro? I've read the increase in performance was around 10%. That would be worth it for me.

Windows ME was fucking terrible. I can't believe your computer lasted 8 years running ME and you didn't go crazy in the process.

Oh, I did sir, I did. And you are absolutely correct. Windows ME = worst operating system in Windows history, hands down, period.

windows vista sucks donkeyballs, I'd run ME anyday

Windows ME = Malicious Edition lol

Vista was a buggy beta release of Win7 that the consumer paid for the privilege of testing for MS.

Mac vs. PC = Tomato vs. Tamato

Bought an iMac last week in an emergency/Microsoft-hating-"I've-had-enough-of-this-shit" rage.

Best computer I've ever used. Won't be going back.

Still on a PC, will stay on PCs.

Running Win, with Linux in Virtual.

::emp::

I've given Bootcamping a try for Vista Ultimate, cause my college gives it to you for $10 instead of $xxx you pay mainstream or... you know... torrent. It was absolutely horrible. Without a mouse, you can't right-click with the trackpad (Macbook). The OS wasn't built for the same resolution as the Macbook screen, so the picture was stretched/squished in different places.

I tried it three different times, all with the intention of running programs on it. Uninstalled Windows a few weeks ago and I'm never going back. Fuggit.

are you serious? im on a Mac and i can right click, very fucking easy.

why people always say Mac's can't right click, or Mac's can't play games,

he can't use right click while he is running windows on his macbook using bootcamp fucktard

lmao

or Mac's don't get a virus....:338:

EDIT: What he said ^

You misunderstood me. While in Windows mode, I couldn't right-click on the trackpad. I can just fine while using Mac (two fingers on the pad then click, I know, I know), but not when running Vista. I guess the OS isn't compatible with the trackpad software.

And I'm fully aware that Macs can play games. I just got done playing a nice round of Need For Speed Most Wanted, and I have a Cider Ported copy of Halo and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on my machine.

As for the viruses, you can get them, it's just a lot less likely. Like 5000:1 odds Mac vs. PC.

But yes, right-clicking while using OSX is very, very "fucking" easy.

^ I'm pretty sure there's a setting that will fix that. I'll check for you in a bit.

Not sure I'll ever get a Mac again - Their support sucks. I have a crack in the wrist-wrest of my Macbook due to a known design flaw.

My neighbors macbook just did the same thing..it's not even a year old.

I hate Microsoft but like pc's for some reason. I use Linux so I don't need to pay 2x the price to look cool with a mac which is on basically the same hardware.

PC 100%. Fuck macs and the cult-like following. Also, this:

I've been a huge Mac fan, but recently sold my old Powerbook (*sniff*). I'm on Ubuntu Linux with Win in a VirtualBox for those few apps I need. I likely will not go back to either Windows or Mac.

PC hardware $$ > Mac hardware $$ , LinuxOS >=Mac>Windows

I have both and prefer the PC. If I have a lot of graphic work I'll sometimes use the Mac, for some reason I like PS & Fireworks better on there.

Shit goes wrong with both of them. Memory went bad on the Mac. HD crashed on the PC.

Of course I never have ANY issues with my 5+ year old boxes running Linux or Server.

I tried Linux, and I couldn't get my $500 sound card to work, so I said fuck it.

And all you Windows Vista haters, you're idiots. It's by far the most stable windows I've used. These days you can spend $500-$600 for a system more than capable enough to run Vista and and most games out there. Not to mention the torrents available...

Viva la PC.

no, when most people talk about Mac's they say, you can't right click, or you can't play games. these are the two rebuttals, MOST Win users use

i didn't know you couldn't right click, while in Windows. I have no need to run Windows, fuck Windows. You try to mess around with the settings?

damn i guess had my daily learning.
