NEW Facebook Ads

My girlfriend and I just looked at the ad wall and it was all Acai/Colon coming off of Narticles. They were everywhere! I can't believe Facebook still allows this. WOW!

Anyone have problems where the fb ads interface will show old data? Like for instance it will show that campaigns are paused, when it fact they are actually active? Plus when viewing the campaign page sometimes none of the data will load and it is just blank....

I've had this problem on and off for like 3 days, so annoying...

Usually logging out and back in fixes it for a little bit.

anyone noticed yesterday's spend is showing as $0. Great if they dont charge us for that lol

My yesterday's spend is fine but my today's spend is $0. Earlier it was accurate, but about two hours ago - clicks and spend went to $0 and have not moved since. Traffic seems to have slowed but still getting a bit... System is sooo buggy.......

Same issue lol, I'll take a free day! :eatmousepointer:

How easy is it to get back into facebook once you've been banned? After browsing around on a fake account I'm seeing a lot of shady ads.

celebrity pic as ad, link in ad thats not the link you get sent too, etc.

I know redirecting was a big thing with facebook and still probably is, but how often do these guys(probably some of you) get banned?

I know a lot of people here buy facebook accounts or simply create new ones. Is facebook not as strict as google?

When your banned do they ban your credit cards as well so you can't use them anymore?

I know someone here got asked by facebook to fuck off and never advertise with them again so I am guessing there is something set in place.

When your banned from fb thats it for your name and your CC. Simply get another accoumt (a older one IMHO) and start with that.

Hi,

We've noticed that you are currently running Facebook Ads that violate our Advertising Guidelines or Terms of Use.

Dating ads may not use provocative or scandalous images. Since users are especially sensitive to ads for these kinds of services, we recommend choosing images based on the following suggestions:
1) Choose an image of a model close in age to the age range your ad is targeting.
2) Consider the camera angle of the photo. Choose an image whose main focus is not the chest, legs, buttocks, etc.
3) Keep in mind that users tend to respond negatively to images that expose large amounts of skin. Avoid using models that are wearing bathing suits, low-cut shorts, or other suggestive attire.

Additionally, ads for dating sites, services, or related content must follow these targeting criteria: (i) the Relationship Status targeting parameter must be utilized and set to Single, (ii) The Sex targeting parameter must be utilized and a single value of Male or Female must be selected, (iii) the Age targeting parameter must be utilized and the age range selected must start at least at 18 years old, (iv) the Interested In targeting parameter must be utilized and a single value of either Men or Women must be selected. Lastly, the ad text or image must clearly state and represent the company or product that is being advertised.

Please delete any ads that violate these policies within 48 hours to bring your account into compliance with Facebook policies. Continuing to run ads that violate our policies may result in additional action being taken on your account, including possible termination.

If you have questions about ad content that may violate our guidelines, feel free to reply to this email.

Thanks for your cooperation,

The Facebook Ads Team

Just got this a bit ago, also, this is what doesn't make sense is that I am not running a SINGLE dating ad, I have a few "test" ones but haven't spent more than $100 on a dating ad campaign.

Anyone else having problems getting impressions today. Normally i launch the campaign way lower than recommended, it gets impressions and good ctr immediately so the price stays down. Today none of that works. Today even high bids on start give 0 impressions WTF?

what do you facebook pros do first? Optimize CTR or conversion %? Lets say you get a .1% ctr and are paying like .30 cents a click on a 1.50 payout and getting like a 10% conversion rate. Would you try and optimize that ad for a better ctr or conversion rate first? This is assuming you are direct linking to something like a facebook app install where no LP is necessary.

if you are direct linking how are you going to optimize your conversion rate without optimizing your ads? sounds confusing to me...

let me clarify, when I say optimize ctr I mean like messing with the image, adding borders, etc, whatever to try and get the ctr higher. When I say optimizing CR % I mean adjusting the copy of the text for higher conversions

Facebook ad creatives are broken down into 3 parts and their importance is weighted as follows:

Image - 70%
Headline - 20%
AdCopy - 10%

If the adcopy is only 1/10th of a factor in affecting the CTR, guess how much it affects CR%?

short answer: 0%

long answer: zeroooooooooooooooooooooooooo percent

If you want to tweak your CR%, rotate offers to see which one converts best, this is if you're direct linking. If you have a lander, then you should be split testing variables on your page. Adcopy has little to nothing to do with CR% on FB.

For FB, you should always try to optimize for a good CTR, but if your offer doesn't convert then you're pretty screwed too, so test both simultaneously.

Image - 70%
Headline - 20%
AdCopy - 10%

I have 2 ads where the only difference is the copy. One runs at 0.175% CTR and the other at 0.4%+ (as high as 0.7%) CTR. Actual cpc's vary hugely between the two

The thing I realized is that you can't sell an offer in a dinky Facebook ad and you're losing alot of clicks simply by mentioning what youre gonna try to sell them when they click through. get people to click and then let your lander do ALL the selling ;)

Since headline/copy accounts for 30%ish of the ad CTR, don't discount it and keep hunting for images
