Blah - half you guys can't do this. To dangerous (porn and treadmills are a dangerous combination). I'm sure a few of you would try to throw in the inflatable doll and really get hurt.

Yeah this biz can take a toll on you I think I've gained 10 lbs in the last year. I like this idea and really may consider it.

while in theory this sounds like a great idea, in reality the effects will be shortlived. The more you do the same type of exercise the more efficient your body becomes at it, as a result you will burn less calories over time.

Doing such a low intensity aerobic activity like this will not take long for your body to adapt and the energy expenditure will be far less than you think it is.

I am not saying there aren't general health benefits, but in terms of burning calories it isn't really that effective.

High intensity interval resistance training and High intensity interval sprint training are far superior to Steady State Aerobic training. You could achieve more with a 1 hour high intensity interval workout, in terms of fat loss and caloric expenditure throughout the day, than you could walking on the treadmill all day long.

Just some food for thought, not trying to rain on your new workstation.

Anyone ever been to Houston? Can be rather hot and humid to be attempting ironman routines on regular basis. I think she's got a good setup - especially considering her pregnancy.

didn't see anything about pregnancy (if it is mentioned somewhere in this post then I missed it), so i wasn't aware. I wouldn't consider one hour of resistance training and sprinting an Ironman routine. And I'm sure there are plenty of gyms with air conditioning out there.

EDIT: just scrolled up and saw the 39 weeks pregnant line.

However, I was trying to speak in more general terms for anyone that wants to set this up, wasn't really trying to point my post directly at Turbo even though it probably comes off like that.

I guess I should clarify the point I was trying to get across.

If this is what gets you off your ass to get some exercise then I am all for it and think it is great, but in terms of fat loss, calorie burning, and maintaining lean body mass it isn't that great of a solution.

so invest the time to get dragon naturally speaking to work for you! it is actually pretty good these days. I use it all the time, took me about 1 week to get used to it.

I knew losser was a spammer! can we get a ban now pls??

Anyway, I think some of you are missing the point. This is not high aerobic. And as Jizz said this is not some sort of triathlon training. Even if you are into that stuff and you do high intensity 3, 5, 7 times a week, I can guarantee you are sitting on your ass at least 8 hours a day doing anything with Affiliate Marketing. It's those 8 hours that can be spent off your ass. Any health professional or trainer will tell you how good this would be for you.

I would think one of these would be more practical, as retarded as it appears

Not sure where the Triathlon training comparisons came from. I just said "high intensity" (which does not = triathlon training). In fact, they are completely different ends of the exercise spectrum. As intensity increases, duration has to decrease.

At first, I did misunderstand your post and thought you were doing this for fat loss/body composition because you mentioned burning calories. Once I reread everything I understood why you were doing it, and I agreed that there were general health benefits to it.

Sorry if I took the post offtrack.

Nah. I can see that it might be a little weird to people at first and the idea could certainly lead to alot of misnotions. Here's an article about the guy leading the research at the Mayoclinic. He's the one that started this whole thing and I think it better explains (than I did ) the point of all this ABC News: Office of the Future: Walk While Working It's actually a part of the mayoclinic's NEAT( non-exercise activity thermogenesis) research.

Just for extreme comparison. I don't think anyone is saying you're out to lunch. I myself would be better off with your regimen since I like good food and beverage.

I live near a lake and on 2 or 3 mornings a week me and a few other dog owners get together at a public park/swim area. The dog gets to play and I swim a dozen or so relays from the dock to the float to get the blood pumping. LOL, then I come home and hang my towel on my Soloflex (it's actually seen more action as a clothes rack). I guess I work off enough to keep up with my vices. Could do better though.

Can you actually get stuff done like this though? To me it would seem frustrating walking and trying to type / click on things with my mouse at the same time.
