Well after one hard year of meditation, reflection, writing, analysis, revision, more meditation and more reflection I have finally completed my first book.

The book is called Rule By Ignorance. It's a children's book -- except the children it's written for are adults. So much of the world around us is based upon ignorance. At the heart of religion, science, education and government is ignorance. We call ourselves civilized yet we don't practice principles of civilization. It's hard to be civilized when wisdom and reason reign dormant.

We are ignorant when we have religion determining our reason rather than our reason determining religion. We are ignorant when we hold on to measurable scientific things and ignore immeasurable spiritual things. We are ignorant when we have schools tell us what to think rather than teach us how to think. And we are especially ignorant when we choose to let others control our lives through government rather than embracing the gift of human consciousness through personal responsibility.

Sales copy on the website is tl;dr. Rewrite that shit.

Not really giving a fuck about the contents.
But tell us what problem/subject/theme you are answering/solving in that book.
Based on the contents breakdown it looks just like you are trying to lay out your life philosophy on a bunch of unassociated subjects.
Anyway, good luck with it! You went through with it and it looks great. Now get some decent publicist and promote the shit out of it.

slayerment, this looks really interesting.

Buying the eBook version as we speak. If I like it, will order paperback.

Will post when finished reading.

Q, hit up Stephan Molyneux. I think there is a reasonable chance you could get an interview with him.

For 1$ , looks interesting enough. Just bought the kindle version.

Good job on putting this together, it's look interesting and I skimmed through the sample. If you're looking for any type of constructive criticism, I'd have to point out that your downplaying of degrees is exaggerated. You said that probably only 1% of college students end up needing that degree to get a particular job. In truth the majority of them still end up in jobs that do require one. I understand your point though, and it is a good one, but there are many jobs besides doctors and lawyers that require at least some type of degree, as far as hiring is concerned.

The number of jobs requiring degrees has continued to grow, while the "recession" has mostly taken away jobs that don't require degrees.

Had a quick skim through the religous chapter, good attempt but cant say i'm impressed. You've wrote so much contradictive stuff that its hard to grasp what it is that you actually believe yourself.

You go on to say that there is no heaven or hell, and that you are not judged when you die, and in the next paragraph you claim that reincarnation definately exists though, and religion is all about picking out the good pieces and leaving out the bad. Religion got reincarnation right though, because thats "logical"......

... "Why on earth would we only have one life to prove ourselves to God" you mention.

I find stuff like this highly illogical and this book is entirely your own opinion, and while it goes on about "Spirituality" quite a lot, it's quite obvious that the book is written from someone who is obviously very religious, and the bias shows through almost immediately in your writing.

Thats just my opionin, and well done for actually writing a book, not many people do that in their entire life time... it's just not my 'cup of tea' . Good lluck all the same though!

I'm putting money down that that's a real doll and not a real person.

Oh yeah, awesome book, awesome cover! Right up my alley. I'll give her a whirl at some point *wish list*

Energy is neither destroyed nor created, simply transformed. We are energy.

"You" are a very specific combination and organization of energy, and when "you" die that organization goes with it. You do not continue existing after you die, you are dissipated into the universe from which you came.

Or do you also claim to be 14 billion years old?

Offer some kind of prizes here for the 3 best reviews (maybe something from bst thread if you don't have anything else up your sleeve related to the book) - not that $1 is too much, just that if anyone else here is like me w/ a stack of partially-read books on our kindle, that would be incentive to blow through it & get you some social proof.

Also, doesn't look like they have your kindle edition listed in the "other options" section on your physical book page.

Selling outside BST after all those threads about how anyone who did it, regardless of member status or whatever? Ballsy.

Site for the book made me want to murder myself. Also, the description on amazon was incredibly weak. To your credit though you finished writing a book - that's impressive.

I don't have time to read 300 page rants right now, but you're a fellow WFer who finished an entire book, and I've always liked your posts. Major Congratulations to you.
