I am new here so dont really know who Jon is, but I like his strategy in this thread. As an SEO, this is linkbait as its finest. I do this same thing daily.

Come up with an epic story (In Jon's case and epic inside lead), create the full story and have it ready to go live. In the meantime, shop exclusivity around to top sites/news outlets. Giving some one exclusives is a great way to appeal to their ego.

They run story. You post the full story on your (client's) site. Boom, every one is a winner. This thread should serve as a case study for others interested in how to get high quality backlinks using content and content marketing.

Really, i give it a 50/50 chance. Would be fun because most people already signed it as lose.

But it will shake the bitcoin business even more. The damage is already done,
alot people lost money, at last by the insane trading at gox the last days.

People will be less happy as expected.
I doubt the market and the people will accept mtgox or a new gox easily.
And even when - this will go on.That guy will not turn now instantly in a competent business man.
He is not one. And that is a problem when you deal with a million dollar business.

So he is not in hiding... is that all or am I missing something?

I mean, yeah, he said he lost money of his own, however did not say how much. 0.01 BTC vs 1000 BTC would make that part relevant, but as it stands, all I got from it is; he isn't hiding in a cave, only his apartment.
 
So to confirm now....

Mark said your bitcoin isn't lost... but it's not there.. nor do they know where it is... Nothing is. They should have come out and said that from the start. But they didn't.

I tried to get other answers from him, but like I've said, he's a tough guy to chat with...

If i understood that means

- the draft is legit (but not official)

The coins ARE gone, their cold storage is harmed and gox complete insovency and they did not handled that legally (because even the draft is official or not, its not a fake. They did not added such a point without its ture).

Ok, i removed the "coins are stolen"...

The draft is clear - coins are lost. Official or not, the draft is very clear there, its the core of it.
And "we have no idea where the coins are".

Coins are there or not. And when they are not "there" then you don't have them.
Thats the nature of bitcoins??

If the coins are not in their wallets then they lost them.
You can't get them back normally.
When this is really going on over a long time you can complete forget it.

He is just blurring the fact the coins are gone.
